Multiplayer
So in the Coffee Diary this was mentioned:
"We will also have various other engagements over the holidays; some of the team are going to be moving houses (so we can work more closely together). Brendan is rejoining the team full time, with an emphasis on getting multiplayer rolling."

What kind of multiplayer are we talking about? Will you actually be able to play with each other over the web both in the campaign and the arena? How will progress be saved in the arena, will the host be the arena manager and the fighters be assigned to players?

Will there be another mode implemented where you can fight each other with team objectives?

There are a lot of things which might have varying degrees of difficulty to implement but multiplayer in the sense that you're able to play together with others is guaranteed to enrich the game. Let's discuss together :lunar2019grinningpig:

I feel Campaign Co-op would be a bit too hard to create right now given there's so many physics objects (and physics enemies) available for both players to interact with.

It'd also likely be over the Internet, and probably demand a solid internet connection given everything's physics-based, and some guy teleporting and swinging a stick wouldn't be great.

A Dueling Mode would definitely be the easiest option.
For how the arena would work, my main guess is that a Host creates an Arena Lobby...
Then they have the option to maybe set the Item Ranks (i.e. Host makes an Adept-Level Lobby for players who want to use Adept gear or lower to join)
Then people join, likely have the option to create a loadout from every Adept item and lower (probably with a point restriction like real arena) then players ready up and a Duel begins.

ALTERNATIVELY the Developers make a separate Multiplayer search option for each Item Rank, you click on Expert, and the game tries to connect you with someone who also wants to play Expert (and ideally doesn't have a ping 10x higher than yours)

Doubles, Fray, Skirmish, and The Beast I feel would be immensely fun with multiple players, but this really depends on whether the Developers currently have the resources to make interactions bigger than a 1 v 1

Multiplayer would be low-ping & LAN coop and pvp. We're not sure about cross-country multiplayer yet though; accurate physics is essential for the combat to work. There's a lot to figure out!

Maybe if the LAN multiplayer is like a castle crasher like LAN multiplayer, we can use the steam together to play online ! Big brain

Is it possible for an indie dev team to get on Stadia?

Google Stadia? Owned by Google. No good.
Local remote multiplayer is a thing to be considered as well..
