Nobody is doing any such thing Who Do Voodoo, but have fun being butthurt over somebody playing a game. Nice life you got there.
@NachoDawg I think you'll see a lot of people opting for the reasons stated, it's like using Jin Kazama or Paul Phoenix in the original Tekken Tag Tournament, their basic usage has a lot of utility to it without much effort so you don't need to grind hard to get good with it.
@Warlock I like the shortsword as well and have gotten decently good with it, but there's just something about the range, weight and cutting ability of the bardiche that really gives it an "edge" no pun intended, at least if you're not skilled up on the other weapons on the same tier.
My first Novice tier purchase was a shortsword, and that was my main weapon for quite some time, it's only now that I'm trying the other weapons I overlooked.
Also I just ran through a novice elimination with just the bardiche, the key to quickly ending fights with it is to land a big left to right hit as you and the opponent are closing distance at the start. If you crouch at the right time as you take a big swing you get that full momentum into the legs and they very often fall down, and then it's only a matter of chopping them while they're down.
It gets old really fast though. I'm going to go through the rest of the novice tier weapons and see what I think of those.
The one weakness which is obvious is if you can get in close and just stay on top of the bardiche user, if you let them get any distance you run a higher risk of them landing a big hit.
Either way, we'll find out I guess.
