Exanima

The Bardiche is actually very well rounded for being such a crude looking weapon.
I'm absolutely wrecking hoes with it, I think it outclasses most weapons for sheer usability in its tier. Sure you can develop a level of skill with some of the other weapons, but it's just ridiculously easy to get a handle on how it works versus its capacity to do damage.

Ah the Bardiche, give a peasant a peasants weapon and watch them patting themselves on the back like heroes.

man, so many disputes are going to get settled onces multiplayer is in, hehe
my favourite weapons in novice is the shortsword (instakills or 2 hit kills galore), bardiche (very nice maneuvarability, unpredictable) and spear for it's speed n range.

I love the bill in lower tier fights. It's got good range and manouverability and it makes a sweet sound when it connects to opponents unarmored head. Its OP as !#¤

The bill is good too, as is the hook and the polearm.

Nobody is doing any such thing Who Do Voodoo, but have fun being butthurt over somebody playing a game. Nice life you got there.

@NachoDawg I think you'll see a lot of people opting for the reasons stated, it's like using Jin Kazama or Paul Phoenix in the original Tekken Tag Tournament, their basic usage has a lot of utility to it without much effort so you don't need to grind hard to get good with it.

@Warlock I like the shortsword as well and have gotten decently good with it, but there's just something about the range, weight and cutting ability of the bardiche that really gives it an "edge" no pun intended, at least if you're not skilled up on the other weapons on the same tier.

My first Novice tier purchase was a shortsword, and that was my main weapon for quite some time, it's only now that I'm trying the other weapons I overlooked.

novice is without a doubt the most dangerous rank due to the poor armour and the superior weapons. one lucky stab to the head with a shortsword and you're dead, 100% dead.

Probably the most interesting though, aspirant is good practice for sword fighting in the novice rank if you get good with the machete.

Also I just ran through a novice elimination with just the bardiche, the key to quickly ending fights with it is to land a big left to right hit as you and the opponent are closing distance at the start. If you crouch at the right time as you take a big swing you get that full momentum into the legs and they very often fall down, and then it's only a matter of chopping them while they're down.

It gets old really fast though. I'm going to go through the rest of the novice tier weapons and see what I think of those.

No butt was hurt in the making of that joke, it was a joke but would have being ruined by saying *joking* at the end. Tone is not easily conveyed. Also I am all for the amazing variety in choice and playstyle that Exanima makes possible and laugh when people claim x,y,z weapon is the best; some can be circumstantially better but none is better overall and is a matter of how the player uses it.

Well either way, I'm very well acquainted with "noob tier" aspects to gameplay in competitive fighting type games, and I would definitely say that the bardiche fits the bill, I would say for effectiveness without effort it outranks the sledgehammer or the maul because it has both weight enough to knock an opponent down as well as the ability to do slash damage.

The one weakness which is obvious is if you can get in close and just stay on top of the bardiche user, if you let them get any distance you run a higher risk of them landing a big hit.

Lol, I didn't say it was better than the maul overall, but for new players, yeah.

Either way, we'll find out I guess.
