You need to improve yourself on the use of movement.
The level 3's skeletons are so easy I could win them with only 1 hand... Now the level 4 ones are different, they're faster and they are pretty powerful.
One weakness I found on both of the skeletons types, they're weak. So dodge the first attack and do a powerful swing, repeat until you win.
This game isn't easy and every advice helps so I get why you got angry when the guy just said you need to improve on movement, it isn't as simple as that, I know. I think what he meant was you need to dodge more.
Btw they aren't more resistente than you and they don't bypass armor. The only things that bypass armor are blunt weapons.
kidding aside, maybe use armour with less encumbrance.
/\ This. If it's your first play-through and you are super encumbered because you haven't invested in armor skills you'll be hella slow both dodging and attacking. I'll usually try and get moving-in-armor I, then riposte then armor II and III then pack in other close combat skills, that way I'm nice and light on my feet by the time I'm fighting anything that's dangerous.
Junk steel is right to a degree though. Certain things you can only get good at by repetition and understanding your measure and the best times and techniques for counter attacking are definitely a couple of them.
Getting Derrin to flank them is super useful as is learning techniques for hitting around shields. Dual wielding is also super useful against them especially if you have a flail in your left hand.
I have the strong feeling there is not going to be a next time for you if take into account the current level of rage in your heart lmao. I honestly don't know how to give you any advice in that regard as I feel those skeletons are pretty much zombies without flesh. Good luck!
Being over encumbered by heavy armor is a serious hindrance when it comes to quicker enemies. Especially the blademaster (level 5). Try unequipping some of the heavier armors until you get the skills for decreasing their weight.
Shields and fighting with one handed weapons feel MUCH better now. I would recommend trying to get the skills for them as well, and a good mace. Gonna be easier to take out skele's with a mace than an edged weapon.
Also, be aware that shields have their own skill for reducing the encumbrance they incur.
Long story short, it is easier to outpace your enemies, than to tank their attacks, even if you do mitigate damage, it will be much more difficult to keep them at an optimal weapon striking range if they have the upper hand and are too close to you, or what have you.
