How do you equip items in arena mode?

Bought some stuff from trader, wont let me equip it on my manager or hired guys.

You have to click on the roster to the left of the merchant, and then select the character and rank you want to equip your gear on, and then drag your purchased items directly onto the character model - not your inventory.

There's nothing to fix, it works. Click on MANAGE, then select your fighter and set the rank slider appropriately, then select the type of equipment (weapons, shields, armor, clothing) and the number tab that the item is in, then equip it.

well ^^ i i have the same issue i guess, buy some rank free clothes, I see them in the arsenal but not manage tab

You're probably not clicking on the right category of item to view the clothing. Under manage, click on the clothing icon on the far right. Newly bought clothing will be on tab number 1.

Here's the thing, it literally doesn't work. I even unequipped the staff my fighter already had, and now I can not equip ANYTHING on them. When I drag the item to the character, the cursor turns into an "X" no matter what it is.

it works what level is your character? is he adept, novice exc? what is the lvl of the stuff u bought? each item has a lvl such as novice or adept,master associated with them.. i had this issue and figured it out

Arena mode sadly is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up mess and doesn't work unless you invest 200 hours in roleplaying a clerk manager and pixel-hunt-rpg, so don't bother. Hopefully eventully we have a mod that actually just lets you do arena fight - buy stuff - arena fight, without having to sim-city a entire family of limits and subtasks.

How is it possible to misread and misunderstand so much something this simple ?

You buy ♥♥♥♥ from the vendor. Depending on what it is, it will go to its corresponding tab (weapons, shields, clothes or armour, no ranged weapons yet). Using the Arsenal menu, you can sort out your purchases following whatever sorting system you find most logical (I sort my items within the five available tabs relative to their rank, with inept in tab 1 all the way to master in tab 5). Then, you go into the Manage menu and find the items you previously bought and sorted in Arsenal, on the right side of the screen (item types and tab number at the top). Depending on your character rank and encumbrance, you will be able to use the item or not (you can only equip an item if it is your rank or lower, without going over the encumbrance limit). You also need to make a loadout for every rank (Inept, Aspirant, Novice, Adept and Master), by using the slider at the top left corner of the Manage screen. If you rank up but forget to equip stuff on the new rank, you will appear naked in Challenger fights (because it uses the equipment you have chosen for your highest rank). Clear ?

Really, the Arena mode has been all around solid for about seven or eight years now and, barring a few exceptions, only minor bugs were found (generally quickly fixed). All I see here are either liars trying the keep ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the game like silly trolls or people who just didn't read the tutorial correctly. There are guides out there too, no excuses. And if really something is wrong with the Arena mode, which I doubt, the devs lurk regularly on the Discord.
