Exanima

Ambitions of Bare Mettle?
I know that sometimes we want to do everything by ourselves so it has our level of quality and originally.
What Bare Mettle made and probably is making is fantastic. The product has already their face and you can see the level of quality that they are aiming for.

Is it time to get help?
The game has a lot of potential, and right now I can think of almost 10 products that would sell a lot if released.
Exanima, Arena multiplayer and Sui generis.
On different platforms...yes, there are studios that can make versions of Exanima, Sui Generis, etc... for Switch, PS4, etc... or the online multiplayer.

I know that be indie is amazing, the freedom, you make your schedule, etc...
But my second favorite game, that was a "big indie", signed a contract with deepsilver last year... I didn't like it, but now they will be releasing it sooner and in many different platforms.

And they were like Exanima, the game had a lot done already.
A face, the quality that they were aiming, the theme that many big studios are not interested.
And hopefully Warhorse will finish Kingdom come, the dlcs, and make many another games.

I would love to see it happening to Bare Mettle...
But I understand if it is not the way that you guys want.

Madoc has no intention of moving exanima or sui generis to consoles. but it is too early to say.

Not gonna happen... I think. Id bet on it

I cannot imagine how such a heavy physics-based realistic combat could be performed with the use of a controller. I am personally a PC only player, although I would not mind seeing sui generis or Exanima on consoles if it means bringing more profit for baremettle and allowing for a bigger budget and thus recruiting more people to the team. However, a substantial investment would have to be made for the console port and therefore it seems out of the picture at the moment.
I hope they(Exanima and Sui Generis) don't ever make it to consoles, honestly. The PC versions always get dumbed down in at times many ways to make it happen. I wouldn't want that happening to Exanima. Everyone should just have a PC anyways. You can use gamepads and lots of other control methods with them. The best thing for a game is to focus on 1 singular platform and completely optimise it for that. Quality over quantity!

Well, I don't mind Exanima being on consoles, but not Sui Generis. Online MMO's and MMORPG's should stay on PC's. I think we can all see that the ones moved to consoles have become garbage. I also prefer quality over quantity.
I wouldn't say Sui Generis is going to be a MMO or MMORPG. More like single-player with the *possible possibility* of co-op or low latency multi-player. As for quality, you are going to sacrifice some regardless, if they made it multi-platform. That's just how it works.

Exanima and Sui generis are not Watch dogs or Crisis...
As for graphics I don't think it would impact anything... Even if they tried to have it looking the same on every platform.

As for physics, once the game is optimised I doubt it wouldn't run on any of the new consoles.

This is so senseless. The deep hate (not hate but I'm missing a word - like no respects ) they have against the mainstream I am very sure they don't respect neither consoles nor consoleplayers ...

None of the current gen consoles would likely have a good enough CPU to run this, and it's already near perfect in terms of optimization, I think. Though, I did manage to run it on a $200 laptop with near 60fps. Plus, to your online multiplayer point, Madoc made it pretty clear that it would be at most co-op with one other player. And your assertion that other studios can make versions of this game for consoles comes across as slightly demeaning of the work BM has put into this game. I get that you want this game to have more mass appeal, but you're really cheapening it.

They don't, unlike most 'developers' these days. That's why this game will be something special.

Gotta say, I don't like the way you put developers in quotes. There's nothing wrong with wanting mass appeal, it doesn't make those devs any less of a game dev than BM.

They willingly reduce the quality of their own product to appeal the masses. They are reducing the experience for us for more profit. I respect BM for not doing that. I hope it stays that way.

Are you saying you don't respect developers that do that, or that most/all developers who want mass appeal intentionally reduce the quality of their game? If the latter, then that's ridiculous. If the former, that's understandable.

Dude, it's automatic. If you try to appeal to more, you will need to reduce quality and make the game mediocre to find a balance that will suit(but not be loved by) most people. That's how it goes. Usually there are love/hate games like Exanima or more generic games that most people are fine with, but will forget about the next day. Think about it. Also, yeah, it's the former and latter. They intentially do it as they have to 'decide' between quality and quantity.
ZAToM 2018 年 1 月 8 日 下午 12:19
most devs dont even deserve to live such crap they are releasing..

dont u see this cancer of the minimaps that show where u need to go next? (just the quickest example)

most games are total crap, are actually insulting for every gamer (like me) but many kids are already so manipulated that they dont even like good games but they want the instant achievments doublekill with high dmg output shown in numbers and that loot drop box

they get bored if they dont achieve anything special within 5 minutes

i mean good rated games like witcher 3 and fallout4 are very very very bad...

I've used my 360 controller and it worked well enough. It was challenging, but I did quite well. Managed to execute some mind blowingly precise attacks, in fact. Someone gave me a script that allowed me to lock the cursor around the character, so that helped tremendously, though it's not totally necessary. I'm not sure I'd do it again because my hands were very sore from all the unusual and abrasive motions.
