Exanima

Exanima

I's there any way to edit ( script ) this game
I would like test some cool stuff by using this game and it's engine for example I would like to create a shield wall and zombies attacking to them or 10 peasant against a giant knigth or editing weapon configurations and making them op af. Is there any way to do this. If not, there will be a way to do this in the future ?

Me and some other people do things to the game. Personally tried I modifying items and made my terrible 1st person mod. You mod suggestion is alot more complicated than that, but it might be possible, maybe in the future.
Well you can already edit the stats of the game, and a save editor is already in exsistance, however the game is stil EA and mods have not been on the top of the dev's list sadly so we must wait till launch. The forums here and on the devolpers website are being anal dickhats about the save editor or any forum of "cheat" that changes the status of the game or edits your saves.
Though honestly those indviduals can go ♥♥♥♥ off, if you payed for the game and your not online no reason you shouldnt be allowed to do with the game as you please. Those who argue "but but piracy comes from being allowed to make save editors!" eat a ♥♥♥♥ this game like all others will always have someone somewhere pirating it, save editor or not, cant stop that with brute force so no sense in ruining the fun of others.

You don't buy the game, you buy a license to play it. You should respect the rules of the developers as they are the ones that own the game. Also, a life tip - just because you can, doesn't mean you should. That is all.

It is part of the Steam user rules and guidelines to not discuss cheating / hacking. The developers themselves have said they don't mind people modding the game in a way that isn't considered cheating.

So, when people start talking about giving themselves money, some people start to remind others this is cheating and not allowed.

Why shouldn't I? Theres zero negative repercussions in doing so, it doesnt affect anyone else. I understand the devs reasoning in that they want us to experience the game in a certain way that they intended but lets be honest the game is fairly bare in its current state not much to do after you've already completed the single digit levels.

I should have every right to mod the game as i see fit and why are you under the impression that I'm only buying a license to play the game. From my understanding I am purchasing the game along with the files which I can modify for non-commercial purposes ( feel free to correct me). Not allowing modding at this stage will only hurt the game given its limited development stage, just look at overgrowth which has been in development for more than 6 years and is only still alive because the included a modding platform to allow players to create content to keep the community busy while they work on the game.

Can you actually even give me a valid reason as to why I shouldn't?

Well you don't truly own the game. No matter how you want to look at it. The game's files are on your hard drive, yes, but the game itself remains the property of Bare Mettle. Still, I think the reason developers aren't stricter about this is because they can't be, really. People always find ways to edit files. That doesn't mean it's right to do so, however, and that general attitude of '♥♥♥♥ the rules, I'll do what I want' is one reason the world is in such a messed up state. It creates chaos, even if you think it does no harm. Obviously the chaos caused by messing with Exanima is minimal at best, but that still doesn't mean you have the right to.

Yeah, they included it. The developers of Overgrowth. The developers of Exanima have not.

Again zero real reason as to why I shouldn't, I understand the devs don't want people revealing and spoiling future content which I can agree with which is the only valid reasoning I can think of. I don't understand why theres people like you who blindly argue that we shouldn't mod the game when you're the ones who would benefit the most from it without any negative effects for the developers.

Also the game itself belongs to me and is my property after I've exchanged money for it, it's intellectual property belongs to bare mettle which means I can't use its assets or source code for commercial use. However I am free to use the files as I please for personal use.

I think you can't deny the fact that modding is a great way to extend life time of a game. there tons of examples in the market and if you look at my top 2 most played games you can see that both of them are extremely modable games that is way I spend way too much time playing or trying to modd them. I'll be honest when I first saw the Exanima it was looking like a game with greate modabilty support. I searched for some youtube videos for gameplay I came across a dev blog way back in 2014 - 2015 I think. in that video I saw a level editor thingy that devs are used to create levels. It would soo coool if we can make levels and share them.
