Don't understand the health bar
Could someone please clue me in on how to read the health bar? I understand that there are both stamina (yellow) and health (red), and when you are at full health the bar is solid yellow. But past that the different combinations don't make sense to me. Really enjoying the game, but for whatever reason I don't get this part.

what don't you understand?
This was confusing for me aswell.
Yellow is your health bar
Red is permenant damage sustained such as a blade striking you at a unarmored part of your body.
In arena once you sustain red damage it will decrease after a match for example
I play a match with red damage but I win the match without getting anymore red damage then it will get a little less or you can play with a hireling instead of the damaged character and it will regain health that way too.
Once you get expert/master and you will have armor on all places of your body red damage will be a thing of the past. you won't see it all, maybe sometimes but I don't see it anymore.

Thanks, I'm sure it makes perfect sense but I'm still confused.

I understand the concept, it's just I don't know how to interpret what I'm seeing.

So let's say the bar is 90% yellow and 10% red over on the side. Does that mean I lost 10% of my stamina? Or do I only have 10% of my health left? What does it look like if I'm at 80% stamina and 50% health?

Oh, are you saying that red is DAMAGE, not health? So more red=more damage, not a healthier character?
when your stamina runs out you collapse and are knocked out. when the red bar consumes your entire health bar, you're dead

Thank you both, everything makes so much more sense now. I'll still die a lot, but it won't be as much of a surprise.

Red is health, yellow is stamina.

When you lose red health, the stamina bar shrinks. When red reaches zero, you die.

When stamina hits zero, you get knocked out and lose some health before waking up again
Bright yellow is your hp dark yellow is hp that is lost but will regenerate (usually after being hit) red hp is hp that is gone (usually when hit by a brutal attack or sharp weapon) and will not regenerate until a potion is found that are hidden around the map. Blades that hit pure skin will have a large effect while a weapon that is more blunt will still a lot of damage but will not do as much red (perma) dmg. I believe this health bar you have also is the same for enemies. When I say this I mean when the enemy runs away and you have not really made them bleed he will regenerate. I'm not 100% sure but I think it still applies to enemies.
