i just think it would be better if there was an alternate "how deep can you go" game mode if its a rouge like, but since its not, why not offer save points?
This isn't ROGUElike, (rouge is a color), more of an rpg-dungeoncrawler set in the same world as Sui Generis, their main game that is open worl rpg.
Your missing out on something with your assumptions, although I can't say exactly what.
As far as replayability is concerned, there is practice, arena, and story. Many players will have a thousand hours experience with this combat engine by the time Sui Generis is released.
Story-mode is the actual game, arena is just a byproduct to let us pass time. Check the pinned thread about what is coming to see yourself. Some changes are coming to arena too.
