STAR WARS™ X-Wing vs TIE Fighter: Balance of Power Campaigns™

Required a joystick to play?
Whenever I open the game (after selecting the campaign), a message pops-up saying a joystick is not detected, making it unable to play. There's no option to set the controls to keyboard and mouse. What should I do?

Get yourself a gamepad or a joystick. The original CD Version even refused to start when no joystick was plugged into the PC.

Strictly required, just like it was in the old days (it's in the store page too, even though it could be highlighted a bit more, i guess)

If you don't have a device like that, you could try to work a little magic with your mouse coupled with vJoy[vjoystick.sourceforge.net], but i'm not sure it would be a comfortable setup

I have a dualshock 4 and I'm not able to use it in the game even though it works fine for others games. Any ideas?

Play with a joysticki. Logitech Wingman attack 2 works fine, you can probably find one at a thrift store if you look hard enough. Found mine at Half Price Books.

The latest ddraw wrapper (see 3D Acceleration Fix thread) should allow you to play with keyboard or mouse if it detects that you do not have a joystick.
It only works so-so though in my opinion (and that even though I am not really a fan of joysticks).
