Now for an explanation: X-Wing Alliance's engine is an upgraded version of the X-Wing, TIE Fighter and XvT engine... in it, laser shots travel much faster. In the original TIE Fighter you had one or two seconds to move out of the way of a turbolaser shot if you saw it getting fired your way. In XWA, if you can see it coming, it's usually too late to move out of the way. Bigger ships are also a lot better at shooting at more than one target, AND at shooting down incoming warheads. So when you're in a TIE Bomber, you're pretty much toast the moment you start locking unto a starship. Dumb-fire all of your warheads, no matter what
