Despite this tactic, it still took me a couple of tries to make it work and I barely made it outta there. I had about a dozen advance missiles heading for me as I hypered outta there. I also tried using the Ion cannon tactic to try and disable groups of Tie Bombers, but i didn't notice a difference. Best bet is to blast everything in sight. Once you reach the goal, decrease your lasers to zero, transfer whatever you got to shields, set shields to full rear, but guns at Defensive, and get the hell outta there!
Only way is like mdiesing said. Head for the nebula.
From there, I nuked a Lancer, then got in the top turret and just circled firing at the ISD til it's shields dropped (may have to stop to fight TIE's and GUN's if you start getting overwhelmed), then disabled the ISD. CRL Shadow took out the other Lancer, fighters mopped up, ISD destroyed, ended up with a record high % escaped and the hospital even survived.
Good thing those turbolasers don't lead their targets well, lol.
For the turret trick, you can fly the ship to some degree while in the turret. I hold down the same button for reticle targeting/target in front of you. That lets you pitch up/down, so I usually do 3/4 or 4/4 power to shields, 0/4 to lasers, and just turret them down while flying a slow ring around them.
