Picking flowers... for an hour
I have spend the last hour scanning and picking flowers.
Got the orange one, no problem; got the red ones, not much of a problem either.

Tried to get the yellow one, found a few open ones, none of which had an high enogh HQ (still dont quite understand what's that's supposed to be...). I picked all that were below 90 and threw them away. Now no open ones are left and it doesn't seem like the ones that are closed are opening up.

To make matters worse I'm doing all this surrounded by low resolution sprites that make me nauseous whenever I turn around.
The game doesn't look bad and the performance isn't abysmal, but its hardware demands don't quite match its optics. There are games that look way better that run much smoother on my system.

I also keep dropping the scanner when I try to scan a flower that lookes like it just might be open. Why is the key binding for use the same as for drop? Who actually thought that was a good idea?!

If this took 5-10 min, it would be a nice change from the usual. "I'm picking flowers in a video game.. lol"
But this just isn't working and stopped being fun a while ago.

Restart...normally it would be a 10-15 minutes work, as you demanded.

Click when you see the interact icon in the center of the flower, and again when the little red arrow reads high enough on the meter. I did this in 5 minutes and didn't have to pick a 5th flower.

Heh I'm at the very, very beginning, and all I have managed to do, is to put fire in that stove. Red pot, which one is that, the one on the table? Water, okay I managed to fill a glass of water too. That's two things I managed, yay! What to do with it though? Or how? No idea. It won't let me fill up the red pot (what's the point of heating it then?).

At least it stays in the glass after I drop it on the floor.. I feel as clumsy as in Surgeon Simulator lol.

I tried to go and look for those flowers too, but I found nothing at all!

Unfortunately it stopped being fun an hour ago. Feels sluggish too, which makes it even more frustrating.

EDIT: Sorry for the rant, I was just a bit frustrated..

so... it's not just a random number? I can actually influence it?!
Well, thank you very much for the info. Even if this makes absolutely no sense by in game logic.
This game really needs a tutorial for it's min games

You must see the "interaction" icon in the furnace, otherwise it's the wrong piece.

huh, Tried that method. When I clicked when the arrow was highest I got a read out around 40, so negative.
While trying to figure out what I was doing wrong I was attacked by one of the atm unexplained black smoke things which let to me dropping the scanner and being pushed back a few meters. So I lost the grey scanner in the opaque, ugly grey weeds. Another reload, because there was no point searching for it. The smoke clouds don't even seem to harm me, my screen just turns bla for a few seconds and then they're gone. They are just annoying, especially when they come from behind.
Why can I drop game relevant items where I cannot retrieve them?! Why can I drop them at all?! Who tested this game?!
It's not bad per se, I like the art style, the setting is intriguing, when I actually understand what the game wants me to do some of the puzzles are done quite cleverly, but so many little things just don't seem well thought through. Not just buggy, but not well done from the very concept stage.

I had the problem with 4 yellow flowers, all were above 90 but the machine said low HQ, so i restarted the game and it worked :P

Was scanning a yellow flower, black smoke thing attacked me, dropped scanner, and now the scanner is gone. This caused me to quit the game. I'll play again, cool game, just frustrated with this part.

Another "dropped scanner" here. I searched all over for it, and I'm convinced it wasn't on the ground... It was just gone. Thanks to the black smoke monster. Seriously, being able to lose important pieces isn't smart. At the very least, if a player gets far enough from something they've dropped, reset it maybe, huh? Or better yet, if it's required for the active quest, make sure they can access it at all times.

Great, thanks! Finding that wok plate helped. I thought it was that tea pot thing first.

Ok I give up: HOW do you pick flowers at all?

I get that there is a HQ scanner. I also found a promising magnifying glass with two digits on it, but also a note nearby implying it's broke. I tried combining it with some parts from the neurocopier machine at the center table, but that won't work.

After you've scanned the flower to decide the one you want, just stow the scanner in your inventory and when you mouse over the flower it'll be interactive and you just left click and pick it up like any other object.

Ok.. thanks, just one quick question: How do you scan a flower? :P That magnifier glass with the digit readout doesn't work. So ok I guess I'm supposed to fix it somehow. If that's the HQ scanner thing at all, maybe it's something else for all I know.

Yeah I suck at this game. 2 hours (feels like more but that's what the Steam timer says atm) and not being able to make Ongulf's soup (or whatever the name was again).. I've read most of the snippets lying around the tent, at least I think I have.

Story seems very cool though!

By the third or fouth reload I was actually able to solve the flower thing in like 5 minutes.
As I said, the game's not really *bad*, but some stuff is just... ugh

So..with the flower scanning, you have to left click a flower that is completely open with the scanner. You have let the scanner scan the flower until the flower completely closes. When it closes the display will tell you the number that the particular flower has. If the number is lower than the required number you have to have for each flower, you move on to the next flower. If it is at or higher than the number you pick the flower.

This took me a second play-through to figure this out!
