Payphone - Can't call because of security guard

Every time I try to use the payphone, the security guard kills me. I've tried using coins before and then picking a name from the phonebook and dialing, everything. Nothing works. All I know is I need to use it after Slappy told me to "call someone".

To use the pay phone, you need to keep Officer Murphy distracted. If you navigate into the Security Office you can find out some information on a suspected shoplifter and then use that to try and trick the robotic security guard and keep him distracted.

How can I do that? I have the report and even the picture, but It does not give me a chance to give it to him.

That robot is really freaking tedious. It's making me very angry.

It's a shame because I was enjoying the game before.
