Goosebumps: The Game reference guide
So, since there are so many references to the Goosebumps franchise in this game, I decided to make this reference guide for anyone who cares. Now, while I know a lot about the Goosebumps franchise, I don't know everything. There are some things in this game that I'm pretty sure are references and some which I know are references but don't know what book there from. If there's a reference I missed, or a reference that I don't know what it's from, please comment and tell me. Also SPOILERS! Here we go:

Intro cutscene:

the movers are talking about the book The Haunted Car at first, and then one of the movers says "That's not even my hairest adventure." a reference to the book My Hairest Adventure. The other mover mentioned other stories that the other mover told him, one about an evil genie (Scream of the Evil Genie) and one about zombies (which one, I don't know, there are several books about zombies.) And then at the end, Slappy the Dummy from Night of the Living Dummy shows up.

The woods:

The first monster you meet in the woods is the human/plant hybrid from Stay Out of the Basement. When you find the truck full of all the Goosebumps stuff, you can take the shruken head from How I Got my Shrunken Head, and inside you can see a scarecrow, (The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight) a sarcophogus, (The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb) werewolf skin, (Werewolf Skin) and a portrait of the Phantom.(Phantom of the Auditorium) Then when you go back you can see Amazo from Bad Hare Day. The dog that attacks you is Fifi from Please Don't Feed the Vampire, and walking her is Mrs Forester from the short story Home Sweet Home. And your house of course has been turned into the Dead House from Welcome to Dead House. Going back to the woods a second time, you'll also encounter the beast from The Beast from the East.

Your house:

Leaving the entryway and coming back in cause the ghost kids from Welcome to Dead House to show up. In the dining room is Aunt Dahlia from the short story An Old Story. The prune juice is also from An Old Story. In the kitchen, there's a tailsman (which may be from something, I'm not sure) the Purple Peanut Butter (Beware of the Purple Peanut Butter) and Jelly Jam which my be a reference to the title The Horror at Camp Jellyjam. Under the sink, you'll find a sponge, a reference to the Grool from It Came from Beneath the Sink, and in the sink maze, you'll run into Monster Blood from Monster Blood. In the living room, Slappy shows up again on the screen, and there's also a portrait of Murder the Clown from A Nightmare on Clown Street and the cuckoo clock of doom from The Cuckoo Clock of Doom. In the dark room, you can also get the haunted camera from Say Cheese and Die. Going upstairs you'll see a portrait of what I think is Captain Long Ben One Leg from Creep from the Deep. In the study, there are many books that may reference something, and also a piano that says it's manufactured by Shreek and Toggles, a reference to the main villians from Piano Lessons can be Murder. In the bathroom, using that magic laundry chute can get you the haunted mask from The Haunted Mask. In the guest room, you'll be attacked by the Annihalator 3000 from Toy Terror: Batteries Included. The alternate dimension that you can use as a shortcut I know is from something, but I don't know what book. In the parents bedroom, there's a stone gargoyle dripping saliva that turns things to stone. It may not be the same gargoyle, but it is the same saliva from the short story I'm Telling. In the shrinking room (which I don't think is from a book) you meet up with Monster Blood again, and in the attic you find the evil mirror refection from Let's Get Invisible. And speaking of Let's Get Invisible, you find and collect the actual book in the attic.

The mall:

The main enemy in the mall is Officer Murphy from Toy Terror: Batteries Included. In the mall, there's a store called Little Shop of Hampsters, a reference to the book Little Shop of Hampsters, and in the arcade there are arcade machines called The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, Ghost Beach, and Legend of the Lost Legend, all titles of Goosebumps books. In the back maze, you get chased by the lawn gnomes from Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes. In the candy store, the purple things that attack is the blob thing from the short story Suckers! The posters at the movie theater are Lizardman 2 (Lizardman 1 was in the short story Dr. Horror's House of Video) and Going Ape. (which may be a reference to Invadors from the Big Screen) To get into the department store, you have to get past Cronby the troll from Deep in the Jungle of Doom, and in the store are living manequins who I know are from something, but I don't know what. You call R.L.Stine who, like the game says, is the author of Goosebumps. In the bookstore, you see a bunch of Goosebumps books on the floor although it's too hard to see what they are, and you face of with Slappy one last time. During the fight, Slappy says the other dummies used to call him sandwich for brains which may be a reference to Night of the Living Dummy 2 where they find a sandwich in Slappy's brain. The end cutscene shows a bunch of Goosebumps books that are... they're all ones seen before, and dummy in the bookstore, Mr. Wood (from Night of the Living Dummy) turns out to be alive.

The "sandwich for brains" line (that ties to the 'Slappy's Nightmare' achievement) is also a reference to my personal favorite Slappy story.

which one?

Night of the Living Dummy II - early on Amy thinks she feels Slappy's brain when learning to control his eyes for the first time but it turns out to be a moldy sandwich. No explanation for how it arrived in his head was ever given. That plot point always stuck with me as it made me very curious on what exactly happened after the first book that led to a sandwich ending up there.

I know this was written years ago, but I just wrapped up the game and wanted to check out the references. Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
