*DONE WITH AN OFFICIAL WIRELESS XBOX 360 CONTROLLER WITH THE USB DONGLE for use on Windows Vista / 7, but also works on windows 10, because i have windows 10. specific enough?
the link above is the original fix, credits to "Hannibal". http://steamcommunity.com/id/mrlector1
it IS translated well but it isn't specific about a lot of things. some steps it tells you to do, are in the wrong order. do the following:
1. download the file it says to download... the x360ce link, the 64bit version, extract it, but dont run it yet.
2. unplug every controller in exitence connected to your computer INCLUDING the USB dongles if any of them are wireless controllers.
3. pick a controller you want to use with this game. if it's wired, just put it on the side of your desk. if it's wireless, just put the USB dongle and the controller on the side of your desk.
4. run the extracted application you downloaded. name should be x360ce_x64.
5. it should almost immediately after opening up, tell you somerthing on the lines of "there is a DLL file that is needed for this to work, create one now?" Select yes.
6. click save at the bottom right. click the X to close the program completely.
7. in the folder / area where the extratced application you JUST opened is... there now should be a DLL file named xinput1_3.dll
8. right click this file and select copy.
9. right click anywhere in that same location of that DLL file and select paste.
10. now you will have a file named xinput1_3 - Copy.dll
11. right click this new file you just pasted here, and select rename. you need to rename it to xinput1_2.dll
12. repeat to the word, numbers 7, 8, and 9 above.
13. you will have a file named xinput1_3 - Copy.dll
14. rename this new file xinput1_1.dll
15. repeat to the word numbers 7, 8, and 9 above.
16. you will have a file named xinput1_3 - Copy.dll
17. rename this new file to xinput9_1_0.dll
18. LISTEN AND READ: There is a x360ce.ini "configuration settings" file currently in this area. Right click it, and select delete. click yes to delete.
19. There should now be 4 DLL files and the x360ce_x64 application / program icon in this folder / area. select them all, and select to copy them.
20. go to WHATEVER YOUR DRIVE LETTER IS:\Wherever you decided to install Steam\Steam\SteamApps\common\Mother Russia Bleeds
21. right click in here and paste those DLL files and the x360ce_x64 application / program icon. DO NOT run the program yet.
22. if your controller is wired, plug it in. if your controller is wireless, plug in the dongle, but do NOT press any buttons to actually turn on your controller YET.
23. run the x360ce_x64 application.
24. if your controller is wired, it should come up with a prompt asking you to either select the internet or your local files for settings for this controller. select internet and click yes / next until the prompt is gone and you are presented with the main menu of this program.
25. *YOU CAN SKIP TO 26 IF YOUR CONTROLLER IS WIRED. if your controller is wireless, it should STILL come up with a prompt like in number 24. do the same as number 24 says to the word. NOW.... press button on controller to turn on wireless controller. IF... program comes up with ANOTHER prompt like at the beginning of number 24... REPEAT number 24 to the word AGAIN.
26. click save at the bottom right, and then click the x to close the application / program.
27. There is a x360ce.ini "configuration settings" file currently in this area. LEAVE.... IT.... ALONE.
28. have your controller wired / or wireless, ready and on, run the game... and if you did all of the above 27 points to the f****** word without taking shortcuts, you should have FULL controller support in the game straight from the MAIN MENU, not JUST from the character select screen and NOT JUST when playing the gameplay of the game. so when the main menu says press START, horay, your start button should now work. lol. if it does, you can now have fun. if it doesn't.... i don't know what else to say.... refund the game maybe.
just buy 360 pad, that would be great for like ALL your PC games.
yeah.... the gamepad that i have that doesnt work with this game... is a 360 pad. did you like... not read? silly!
i think if you do the following steps above, your mad catz controller should work.
I folowed your instuction 100% and still not working , I can get the mad cats controler to work ingame if i use joy2key and bind the keystrokes but it only works up to the char selection then it wont let me select player 1 only player 3 and that is with the RT button not the start button . I can tecnicly use the fightstick with another player but only playing as player 3 . The enter key does not work and the game wont let me play with keyboard if it did i could use my fightstick with joy2key, i can only play with the 360 pad and i so want to use this arcade fightstick =(
the strange thing is the enter key works up until the char selection point then stops working and the RT button is then the start key for some reason.
I could use joy2key to map button onto the stick from the other pad but I cant work out how to do that yet lol
