Could you check if you can reactivate it by bringing up the Windows list of running applications? (by pressing ctrl + shift + esc at the same time).
For some reason, Turmoil sometimes is not visible in the taskbar. This is a problem we've been trying to fix for a while.
Perhaps you could also run Turmoil in a window (go to settings, and change it from full screen to one of the other options). Does this give you the same result?
This is on a to do list, but as the workaround works you can continue playing. Sometimes the icon will appear in the taskbar after tabbing in and out. But not always.
Always seems to happen at the worst timing. Altho that is proably due to rushing in a panic and slightly over shooting the up arrow above right inc or left inc.
By the time I get this back I screwed up the map so alt+F4 and redo. Very frustrating to find an awesome map and do great but then get 8k in fines from spillage due to a minor bug thats not a priority.
Guess I'll come back in another 6 months and check.
We are apparantly not in agreement *understatement
In our view: if you leave the game to do something else and get spillage fines because of it, that's on you. Turmoil has a timed level, with a speed up option during the level. So there is no reason to tab out and watch something else. We would argue that would be one of the worst thing you can do in a Turmoil level. So, sorry, but we don't agree that that is the way "people play it properly" as theblueroseknight puts it.
YES, it is annoying! We do agree on that.
Unfortunately a bug in the engine we make the game in causes this and it's not a quick fix. And maybe not fixable at all for us (as it's in-engine and not in-game). But it's not a gamebreaking bug in our opinion. You can, as mentioned above, alt+tab back into the game.
Yeah, that's not what i meant. I'm talking about accicentally clicking outside of the game and being penalized for it.
I agree that people shouldn't just randomly tab out to watch something else, but that's not the issue, since hitting esc, as I recall, will pause the game to allow time for a restroom break or to answer the door or phone. The issue we're having isn't that we get up and leave the computer or are bored and wanting to look at another window. The issue is that when the game is tabbed or clicked out of for any reason (paused OR unpaused) it's very difficult to get back into. This HAPPENS to coincide with being able to accidentally click outside of the window, which leads to the spillage fines due to the amount of time it takes to get back into the game.
I've read this thread several times and I'm quite sure I fully understand everyone's issues. If you'd like to send me a message and discuss this issue one-on-one I'd be more than happy to explain people's issues and try to help clear up any confusion.
I really enjoy this game and I think you did a great job developing it, but there seems to be a bit of confusion when it comes to dealing with the fans' concerns.
Slightly irritating to have to force close the game.
