I totally get what you're getting at, but it's really sad that now-a-days a game being FUN isn't enough to keep people playing. There must be artificial rewards built into the game to trick players into grinding away at the game.
Just seems kinda backwards to me (this is my personal opinion too btw, nothing official).
But yes I know what you mean. Games such as CSS kept people playing for Years, but even CS2 went with some sort of motivation keeper now, with the lvl-system, the skin drops and passes. I still love unlocking stuff but not grinding for them either.

Yeah i don't understand, people need a battlepass now to enjoy a game, it's very weird.
