Installation creates an empty folder under \Steam\SteamApps\common\Nightfall Escape, so it more looks like a problem with distribution configuration.

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit
(not 100% sure about this, but this was the method we did when checking our build successfully downloaded)
Uninstall the their current nightfall escape game and then Install the new nightfall escape.
if all fails. Please double check your Distribution Configuration.
Right-clicked on game > properties > local files > verify integrity of game cache - again, finished in seconds.
