I'm kinda the same way. I love 3D platformers, but I never even heard of B&K as a kid and when I tried playing it recently, I couldn't get into it. This game, however, I've already put a few hours in.
Same here. I didn't own a N64 but was really into Spyro, Crash and Jak&Dax. I think the writing and characters are entertaining enough and the controls are fluid and responsive. Unity engine is fine. I even enjoyed the Kartos Karting minigame, beat the top time on my second try.
it's the same reason people call Blender trash, because most Blender users are new to 3D and make trash with it.
Sure, unity may not be able to stand up to unreal or frostbite, but very few develops utilise the features of those engines that unity can't compete with. And then those features are largely visual fidelity -nothing to do with how well made a game is.
Greenlight asset flippers have given unity a bad name. I'm curious as to what it is about unity specifically that makes this a bad game.
