Ya that's fine, Jon has 3 million odd subscribers on YouTUbe and Banjo Kazooie was one of his biggest games, so for a lot of people it was a big deal to have him in there, I mean, I realise it's not everybody

A dumb move by Play Tonic to ban him and appeal to the wrong crowd rather than so many core customers

It also has to do with vindictive SJWs going out of their way to deplatform anyone they deem as "adversaries". They'll then show up on the forum and tell you that you don't understand free speech, but I think we all know that "freespeech" is the opposite of what they were thinking when they were running to said company trying to use the guilt by association card to remove JonTron. This kind of "discourse" deserves to be stamped out and routed from politics, but then again, the only legitimate platform a pedophile can use to look down on you, is through social justice.

People keep bringing up that Playtonic caved in to pandering for all of these "SJWs who harassed Playtonic".

I haven't seen any sources indicating any such thing having occured. If there was whining on the forums I doubt it had any impact on the company's decisions.

And if it is the case, then we have people victim blaming Playtonic for taking actions under this supposed 'harassment'. So either way you slice it, it doesn't make sense to be upset at Playtonic here.

Gonna be honest though, if Grant Kirkhope had anything to say about it, I doubt this would have happened in the first place. They been buddies since Guest Grumps, he definitely had a thing or two to say about this internally for sure.

See, here's the thing, there honestly were only like 2 people on the Playtonic Forums who complained about JonTron (less than a week ago I might add) and 1 on the Kickstarter comments page of the project.

If you want a source for that, yah gotta go to both sites and go to the dates before the JonTron drop, so uh, yeah i can't do that for you lol.

But here's the thing, I get it, you probably heard from somebody (or watched the videos) that JonTron is this guy who's a white supremacist, or has said some pretty racist remarks. If you go back to the videos he's said those remarks, he was sort of painted in a corner when he tried to defend "American Culture" which is sometimes synonomous with "white people" and how he hates the tribalistic grouping from plenty of media outlets.

This isn't really the reason why I myself, am upset with it though. I do not in any way condone white supremacy, or any racist remarks, no siree, so don't say otherwise lol.

The reason why I and probably quite a few others are wary of this event is due to Gamergate.

Plenty of news outlets, whether they be tabloids or video game journals, have been known to collaborate and censor/suppress other people's works and views if they do not "coincide" with "their views."

The fact that this has happened and there is PROOF (from wikileaks i might add) plenty of folks are weary of whats going on in the background, because we honestly don't know who "twisted Playtonic's arm" and thus I personally am angry FOR playtonic.

I don't think playtonic would have done this out of the blue, because they suddenly had a random board meeting and were like "okay, jontron said some stuff and lets just kick his arse out the door".

I'm afraid that some of these "Gamergate" suspects might be behind it and are starting to work their "magic" agian. What happens when the Sequel to Yooka Laylee gets content EVERYONE wants, removed, just because it's viewed "Sexist" even though it's not, or maybe just a little lol. I don't mean to make light of Sexism, i'm just saying, Playtonics, or rather "Rareware former employees" definitely had a laugh at stuff like such in their earlier games like "Conker's bad fur day".

But that's just my perspective, sorry for the long post lol,
