He wasn't at his job saying anything, he was having a conversation online. His personal opinions do not matter, and they obviously do not reflect the companies. He got removed because a brigade of morons pestered the developers until they listened.
The internet still counts as a public place so you still have to consider the consequences of what you say. Playtonic is not Jon Trons best pal. As a private company it's perfectly within their right to disagree with Jon's views both legally and morally
If he actually had crazy beliefs, no one would really care about him being removed. He however doesn't. The devs listened to the loud minority and are now paying the price. Turns out upset headline readers don't make up a good portion of their fan base.
