Oh and you can can unlock a Tonic that reduces power drain too.
It's extremely easy wit just a few stamina upgrades, and the reduction to rolling's stamina drain pretty much guarantees you'll win, if you can at least keep going down the track.
I beat both Nimble races in 2 tries each. I did it once when I first found Nimble and realised it was a futile effort without upgrades.
Came back with 2 upgrades and the reduced roll cost, did the ice race twice, finished the normal race on my first (second total) attempt at that moment.
Jumping is your best friend for controlling your direction, especially on Ice. You can almost make direct 90 degree turns with a small jump.
Hitting the butterflies to regain stamina is required to win, but the more stamina you have, and with the reduced stamina cost for rolling, you can reduce the amount of times you need to collect a butterfly by quite a bit. I think I only required hitting 1 butterfly, maybe two total, and there's what... 6-8 spots with them in the race?
