MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 2016

MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 2016

Audacity?
So, how does this compare to Audacity? Like, function wise. I get that it's pretty looking and easy for newcomers - but for someone who has been using Audacity for years to clean up audio, is there any competition to be had on cleaning quality?

To be honest, that trailer video on the store front right now makes it look completely useless. Why not demonstrate some actual sound cleanups instead of playing that cheery music which tells me nothing about the software?

你好 SONY并不打算在这里逗留 于是你遇见了我 你也不用过多担心 音乐本身就是玩出来的 至于你说的那种专业音频软件 更多偏向录音行业 他们需要后期 而这只是针对独立用户的体验

If you wanna edit sound files stay with Audacity. I bought this thinking that I could use it as an Audacity replacement. My conclusion after several hours is it is not meant to be an audio editor. The software is a de-hisser for tapes and magnetic casette's. Audacity has multi track capability, proper edititing functions.

I have tried this software for editing sound and came to the conclusion that this is the pupose of Magix Audio Cleaning lab is nothing else than de-hiss LP's and casette's. Great if you wanna transfer your old LP's to digital format.

It also cleans up voice mail, memos, lectures, meetings, emergencies, radio handsets and other "non-studio" recordings that are muffled or have background noise. I think that may be its niche. I have some recordings that were going to be used in court that I purchased this for.

I have been using MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab for recording my LPs and cassettes for many years now (I think I started using it in 2012), long before it was integrated into Steam. Of all of the different products I tried, MAGIX has been the most intuitive, easy to use software. Also, its cleaning options work very well; there are even more settings available that I don't use, such as sound enhancement and equalizers, but I have usually found that the presets (with a little tweaking for very poor recordings or heavily damaged LPs) are enough for me.

As mentioned above, it is a bit of a niche product; if you do not need the "Cleaning" aspect in the title, you probably don't need this. But if your goal is to improve the sound quality, not just to record, then this is a great product!

This thread is mega-old and the product was delisted from Steam a very long time ago.

But since we're here, this is my follow up. I've actually been using iZotope RX7 for audio cleanup since then and think it's the best thing ever.

Not sure why the marketing for MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 2017 on Steam was just as bad though as their 2016 version. It too featured some useless promotional video that didn't demonstrate anything about the software. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/apps/256689309/movie480.webm?t=1500625327
