What are some good strategies?
Most of the time I just wing it and got for all the 25 combos.
But one interesting approach I have used was just going for all the 8 combos. You can get pretty stacked on gems and usually sell out the shop.
But I've never been past the Aquifer.
How do you approach the game?

I go for all the 15 combos instead, giving charge top priority, since getting 25+ combos gets relatively easy when you got to Limbo. With some concentration on deciding where to step on you'll grow your health there, with aid of all the additional charges from 15 combos.

Not caring about killing things and going just down looks great, but I found it was hard to deal with any HP losses as you won't get enough gems to convert into some health.

that's why you don't focus on gems/shops

1. go arm spin style
2. get reverse engineering
3. reroll gun mods for HP
4. profit

Do you guys usually go with floaty style? It seems objectively superior, I use it basically always.

To me, arm spin style looks superior because of the constant supply of health and charge.

Floaty style is the way to go for me, it's a lot easier to rack up combos.

floaty is cool, i would use that

once you get Knife And Fork before 4-1, you don't really combo much if you're trying to grab those HP ups.

if you play Floaty too much, you won't get used to the normal falling speed - it'll seem too fast for you. it's better to practice and understand how the game works and try to succeed with the other styles.

that said, Arm Spin gives you way better benefits once you're real gud at the game

I think its not worth breaking combos at 8 since energy and health upgrades in the shop cost more than 100 gems.

This is particularly truei in hard mode where items are even more expensive.

I usually try to get a couple of 15x combos before starting on 25s. Keeping airborne on hard mode with 8 ammo and no skills can be difficult if you're not playing Levitate.

I've recently started to main the Arm-Spin style as I don't have much trouble making 15x-25x combos these days, even with that style.

Each time I reach a time void room that isn't a shop, it's pretty much either more charge, or more health. I don't mind using any weapon, even if I prefer burst weapons like shotgun, laser, burst, etc. I don't even grab the reverse engineering upgrade when it's available.

I usually aim for 25x combos no matter what. I often surpass 15x, so even if I miss, I still get more charge, alongside the ones I get in time voids.

So far, I've reached the boss in Hard Mode a couple times! So close to the end! :happyBUD:

I've been going for 15x combos and it maybe it's just practice, but I've made it to the boss a few times now.
I've never beat it, but still.
Arm spin style seems to be worth trying. It's going to be hard to work off the handicap I've made for myself in levitate.

Yeah Arm Spin Style seems by far the most effective, beat the game on hard mode with that.

Expecially in hard mode you get insane value by getting powerups instead of measly gem heaps
