Hello, I play Cs Source and no update/fix to this problem has happened yet.
I have no idea what kind of 'update' @Jill was talking about...
If you are still having problems, please post what symptoms you are seeing and what model and OS X version you are on.
Since the latest update (17 sept), there is a problem with the display .
My Mac Pro :
MacPro1,1
2 X Dual-Core Intel Xeon 3 GHz
Memory: 10 Go
Graphic Card : ATI Radeon HD 5870
Mac OS X 10.7.5
Here in a few words :
The splash screen of the game is super low resolution… ugly !
Then when in a Half Life 2: deathmatch map, I can see several big shapes (like triangles, rectangles, lines, etc…) which fly all around me… Obviously a problem with video resolution or something like that…
Unplayable !

Seems the update changed the steam-id that the game used to report to hlstats-x & other plugins for each player playing, it was changed in game code to now send that persons steamID3 instead, and broke all the functions within hlstats-x & plugins that depended on the correct steam-id being sent to it, that also broke our ability to ban disconnected players.
And lastly in the steam community area, if you click on your PLAYER NAME, select ACTIVITY, then MANAGE FRIENDS, and RECENTLY PLAYED WITH, the update broke that and it nolonger shows anybody you’ve ever played with online. Makes finding people you were in game with when you wanna friend them, a lot harder! Yeah, that was one update that did more bad, then good, as far as I can see. :-)
game was runing the past 2 years perfectly. About 2 weeks ago the glitch apeared.
half-life 2: deathmatch - recent valve update has returned the random stuttering effect when moving.
This is something hopefully somebody at VALVE reads.... you guys did a game update recently, last 6 months or so, and you have done several so I cant isolate which one created the problem,,, but after your update the dreaded stuttering/lag like issue has returned for all players!
I am not a severly technical person, so I will describe the problem best as possible. This happens in every single map. But it does not happen continously as you run everywhere you go, only in certain spot/areas. As if your walking across certain textures that your character seems to stick to instead of smoothly gliding over as youre moving, like it normally should do.
The end effect is you are stuttering backwards, and it feels like a "glitch in the matrix" effect, where you are hopping backwards a step every so offen and are repeating the last frame you just walked thru.
I have no lag or network bottleneck issues on my dedicated server, and the hardware is extremely over sized for what we're running. Plus the problem was non-existant until the recent server and client updates valve made to the engines. And my client here is as well over spec'ed for the game, and my latency to the server is a measly 20, no lag there, and again the problem was non-existant until the recent server and client updates valve made to the engines.
Just for example purposes, we are logged into map: dm_busa_badlands... (server: Killbilly's Hillbillies) , and there if you run up the 4 big center ramps you stutter like a ♥♥♥♥♥,,, but when you run down the same ramps no issue at all. the issue occurs in other places in that map as well, thats just an easy location to point you to to recreate it.
Some players dont have it as bad as others, but everybody has it everywhere at some point and it's ruining the game immersion experience when you cant aim at people when moving and hit them!
And like I said, I am not a developer, so I have no grasp of the complexity of fixing such a problem, but you do know what you have recently changed and should be able to test rolling back those changes and see which one reverses the problem.... because it's sever!!
We as a community would sincerely appreciate if you could assign some manpower to this before it ruins a wonderful game. :-)
Thanks Valve for all you do to make our lives as fun as you do!!!! :-)
Respectfully, Killbilly Clan.
