Race Mode FAQ

What mode?
Race mode! - A 1 vs 1 race to the top with some curve balls thrown in by the chat. It's separate from the main game and is designed for much quicker sessions.

How can I play it?
Race mode is a free update given to all owners of Choice Chamber. Select "race" from the title screen to play.

Local or online?
Race mode is built for both local and online-ish play. The online-ish mode is a bit different, as it isn't in realtime (but close enough!). That said, racing locally is the preferred way to play.

Keyboard or controllers?
Any combination of keyboard and controllers will work for 1 or 2 players, for both local and online play.

If I play against someone online, do they have to own the game too?
Yes, each player needs to own Choice Chamber to play online.

Can I play local/online and not livestream the game?
Yes, you can technically play without livestreaming. However, the chat is the glue that holds everything together, so the experience may not be ideal. The chat room still works when not streaming, in case you have friends in the same room watching your screen.

Is there a lobby system for finding other players online?
You can only play against someone you know, as each player needs to enter the other's Twitch username. It's unlikely this mode will be popular enough for a lobby to make sense, so have fun with your friends!

I may disagree a bit with that last part, if there was a lobby, it would allow communities to find each other through twitch. I am racing MissBrie2 tonight and I have never done a race! Really looking foreword to it!!! <3 <3 <3 Maybe an update to look into in the future to just have a lobby??? Thanks!!!!

GUYS!!!!! We tried racing with a fellow streamer and we could not connect with each other. We tried every combination of names and hosting and what not. Has anyone had any luck of connecting through online and racing with someone??? PLEASE HELP!! Love the game, and would really enjoy racing with my friends online!!! <3 <3 <3

same online not working

Me and another Streamer have been trying to connect for Race and it hasn't worked any. We're both linked and can play alone with our chats no problem. But when we try connecting to race we both have it saying "Waiting For Opponent" Its like this no matter which of us hosts.

Yep, same with us last year... i guess game is done with updates? Wish it worked, would be really cool!

For anyone that still wants to play the race mode with others it is easily available to play with steam Remote play or through Parsec
