My second tip applies to ALL games, make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date! This is very important if you are like me and don't update them more than every month or so, the last time before 3 days ago that i updated my drivers was probably September 2014.
Hope that this helped!
Texture and model density. The maps with the most problems have lots of little widgets and plants tightly packed together and large packs of trash monsters.
I don't want to burst your bubble, but this game will never be optimized. I far exceed the recommended requirements, and I get some abysmal FPS. This was the same for Van Helsing 2. The only reason I even bought this was to see the end of the story. Also, please do not ask me for my system requirements(you know who you are), I have listed those countless times.
This games recommended requirements should be changed on the store page, because there is no way anyone can get 60 fps with that hardware.
This guy seems to be doing just fine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1cl4pqoQM0
