Soo, about local...
Other games, such as A.I. Roguelite (without mods) allow for connectivity up to locally ran services... So, what's the difference between their capability to do it, and your's?

Can you elaborate on “connectivity up to locally ran services”?

There's an image of it,

Specifically for that game, It's the Image Generation, I can run let's say, COMFYUI locally, then just paste in the server address(In the game's non-modded settings), and the game pulls from my local server for image generation.

I imagine this game, being more audible, could use something like Silly Tavern or whatever. ST is also good for Text as well, but...

I have no idea what sort of TOS you run into with your game, just that developer seems to have had none of those issues, having it in the base game, on steam.
SillyTavern is an frontend service [kind of like how MyRobot is the frontend that requests], something like Kobold actually runs the generations as a backend.

It's just more about, that Steam doesn't seem to have an issue with it being baked into the game, like... It doesn't actually NEED to be a mod... Based on what I've seen from as before mentioned game.

And you right <3
It didn't need a mod, only a special text file in the game directory. The game already has support for it (its only deactivated by default), also for custom AI services as long they have a OpenAI compatible API which near every AI service has because it is somewhat a standard now.

Steam can also sometimes a bit strange, maybe it is because this is a new game after new AI related rules came out.
