Star Trek™: 25th Anniversary

Star Trek™: 25th Anniversary

Where is controller support?
This looks like a port of the console Nintendo title, any chance of adding the same controller support which should be pretty easy today I'd Imagine? really looking forward to this game and great to see it on steam, thanks for your hard work devs in getting it done!

25th Anniversary wasn't available for consoles although the console version of Starfleet Academy did resemble 25th Anniversary so it could be easy to confuse the two.

There was a Nintendo game called Star Trek: 25th Anniverary. I know, I had it. However, the DOS game and the Ninendo game aren't the same game.

There was also one done for GameBoy but, again, totally different. (had that one too) There's nothing in common between the three 25h Anniversary games other than the title, but I can see where peopel can get that confused. The DOS and NES versions were both made by Interplay.

In reply to the topic at hand, the DOS game never had controller support. Most Interplay PC titles didn't.

If you want controller support for old games then get yourself something like joytokey or pinnacle game profiler.

There was an NES port of this game, however the PC version didn't have controller support if I remember correctly.

There was a NES 25th Anniversary game but it was a completely different game that shared the name.

Thanks for the info. and feedback everyone. Indeed these are different, there is FULL voice it seems which Nintendo simply couldnt do, but it might be the same game only without sound? Would be great to see this get the full re release treatment, I bought it so I hope enough people do to show even old titles can be shined up and dusted off!

The NES version played more like Metal Gear Where while the Starship part of the game was sort of similar the ground missions were more like a run and gun with 3 lives. And the story was very different. I should look it up but I dont believe the NES version was even made by Interplay.

NES game was completely different in both gameplay and plot, but it is a fun game if you can find a ROM and emulator, not that I would ever promote such a practice.

Not sure what the NES game story is, is it a different plot than this game? Thought this was the PC version of that game actually. Was that NES version ever on other platforms anyone knows of so we can guess if it will ever make an appearance on steam like other NES classics such as Mega Man?

The PC game is divided into 7 episodic missions, whereas the NES version has one story for the entire game, so far as I know it was never released elsewhere, so your legal option would be to find an original cartridge of the game and play it on something like a Retron 5. (which if you are in to retro gaming is pretty freaking awesome btw)

NES Synopsis from wiki: It begins as the USS Enterprise is approaching the planet Sigma Iotia II. The ship is confronted with a tear in space-time that sends them to an unknown area of space. While attempting to escape, the dilithium crystals, needed to travel at warp speed, have been fused and are useless. The Enterprise is trapped in a decaying orbit above an unknown planet, but Spock detects small amounts of dilithium crystals on the planet. Once the crystals are found, the Enterprise still needs to get back to Federation space, (stopping for better crystals to continue the journey), figure out what caused the tear in space-time, and find a way to fix it
