I bought the game out of nostalgia, and was very surprised to hear voices (I played the 1992 Floppy Disk one).
I know that feeling! My original floppy disk copy became corrupted many years ago and I was never able to fix it. Back in those days you couldn't just download the files off the Internet and the floppy disk warranty was useless for AU gamers.
Imagine the surprise when I found a CD version in a bargain bin! Not only do you get the better sounds and voices, you also get an extended final mission! :)
