I have been able to get it to work using the Steam Deck remote play feature at least but it does require launching the Steam PC client as admin. For some reason in Windows the IWar2 executables all want to run with admin privileges. If you revoke the 'run as admin' privileges from the games executables, upon next launch of the game the 'run as admin' privileges are simply restored again... Anyway, if the Steam PC client performing the remote play streaming to the Steam Deck isn't also running as admin, then no control input is passed from the Steam Deck to the game (which always wants to run as admin).
Anyway, fantastic work on the patch! I'm finally going to try and beat this great game!
(my last attempt was many years ago and I couldn't progress the campaign beyond a certain point due to a bug...)
Sure some very smart fellows of the fanbase for this game managed to get into the mission source files back in october but I doubt that would make them capable of making this game to run natively on steam deck.
