Solo Warrior sounds fun! Lemme think:
* Without the starting artifact/Wonder Herb, it is basically a(n almost) no artifact run, due to zero MP. Makes a lot of decisions far easier to take :)
* So, which artifacts did you took?
* Since he still have access to most of the best designed gear in the game (Icefyre is a no brainer with 0 MP) it kinda .
* Its godly defense/HP might make this a less painful solo challenge than most classes, but I confess that I have avoided Dreamer for a long time, so I really don't know.
* I have been using the Airship glitch but, so far, it only speed up my access to gears and chests on first floors of everywhere - I haven't found nothing very mind/game breaking in particular. Or am I missing something here?
I will eventually do a Solo Dreamer first, since I am a item hoarder, and go for the Adjudicator just cause I heard someone around here say it was done.
Despite my initial hesitance toward the Circlet, it eventually became a wonderful pick due to its HP regen and negative status effect prevention.
A significant downside of this run was that the combat was reduced to 4 actions: Flee, attack, use Icefyre's special from the Item menu, or use Light of Rebirth. It was simple, but still effective.
The airship glitch allows glitching into Key of Time shrines, facing The Hellbeast without the Dispel Scroll, and, very importantly, lets you toggle off ALL random encounters (including via Thrill of Victory) until you toggle them on again by having the knight free you from the trapped chest room in the Temple of Light. If you wanted, you could theoretically get all 55 jar goblins and the Armor of the Elements and loot the Gold Temple at level 1.
It also helped tremendously that I relied on the Steam guides for this game, including mine.
And I have been using your guides. For this game, they became vital.
I too was a bit disappointed that Newb Castle was entered via another initial map (Newb Town). Were it not, the airship could have been used to get ALL the starting gifts!
However, regarding soloing with non-Warrior, non-Dreamer characters, I currently advise the Artifacts as a starting gift due to critical hit immunity.
