Lag in Air Hockey
There's lag in the Air Hockey game to the point it's literally unplayable. It's not jittering but instead a slide-show, the puck can be at the other end of the table without you even knowing it until it suddenly updates and by that point it's already somewhere else. You can sort of fumble your way through the first two beginner levels but from three and beyond it's pretty much impossible, or would take an insane number of retries until you just emerged victorious.

I've tried playing around with the visual options (not that much to work with) and the size of the window but nothing changes this.

As a achievement ***** it's bugging me like no tomorrow. Has anyone else had the same issue and maybe found a fix to it?

As a side note while we're here rather than making another post what is the reward you get for them. In the explanation for both it says win against three to "win the game" (whatever that means) and all five for a "bonus reward". I beat all five in Rock-Paper-Scissors and looked through all of the games extras and such where I figured I'd get a bonus but haven't seen anything.

Thanks for any help!

I have this problem too...

I'm having the same issue, but no idea how to fix it. I've tried the obvious solutions like changing the settings, terminating other processes using a lot of CPU, and rebooting my system with no luck.

If I remember correctlyy, the rewards are extra CGs. I think you have to beat three characters in both minigames for the first one, and all five of them in both games for the second.

Still no fix. Does anyone know what the devs email is? They don't seem to be checking the Steam forums like some do so it might be best to leave them emails about the issue.

In the meantime I've found a way to "abuse" the game that might help those trying to get the achievements. Though I'm not sure if it'll work on the higher difficulties like 4-5 but since we don't know if we'll ever see a fix it's worth trying.

Basically if you align your puck right up against your goal, perfectely centered, you leave almost no room for them to actually score. They can score, and will, but only like 1/100 tries if you line it up right because the window is so small. From there you can actually let the computer just aggressively attack you and it will wind up scoring against itself, though whether it loses points faster than it gains them is up to a bit of luck. You can push it in your direction when the puck occasionally gets stuck on your side and slam it as hard as possible before retreating back to guard your goal, I usually get a point this way.

Regardless if anyone has any idea of how to get in contact with them I'd appreciate it. I'd much prefer us getting an actual fix as opposed to being forced to exploit that guard and hope for the best.

Good luck if you give it a try.

Well I managed to get them after a good bit of trial and error. And so, in the event this is never fixed I'll leave what I learned for anyone who wants to try it despite it being seemingly unplayable. Once I had the computer figured out after toying around on the third level for a while I did finish 4 and 5 with relative ease, they're faster but are open to the same AI fails as the lower levels.

tl'dr incoming, so don't worry about it if you don't care about the achievements or the minigames. This is just here for anyone else who does want to get the achievements and is having the same problems I did because I know it's a pain in the *** and might as well put my pointless effort to some use, maybe it helps someone other than me.

  1. I still relied heavily on the above exploit of staying still in front of your goal however I learned to get a little braver. You could probably win if you just set your paddle in the center and never moved, but it'll take weeks. So whenever you know it's coming your way or you've lost track of it glitching all around move to cover your goal right up against it and perfectely centered and you'll block 99% of shots, but if you want to actively score follow the below.

  2. Aim just a few pixels above the computers puck, as to actually hit it. I know this goes against seemingly all logic but hear me out. If you can "jam" the puck in between the computers paddle and a wall you have about a 50/50 chance it will screw up and actually get it stuck behind it, at which point it will score against itself.

  3. On that note, even without the above do everything possible to get the puck BEHIND the computer. You don't have to go for the goal, simply go for getting it behind them. Because the AI has NO IDEA how to safely get the puck back in front of it, it will almost always score against itself in its flailing attempts to retrieve the puck.

  4. Whenever the puck loses momentum and idles on your side of the board look at the opponents position (they won't move until the puck comes back to their side). If they're higher then slowly nudge the puck to the bottom wall, if they're lower then go high. Take as much time as you need (no time limit) edging it up perfectely with the correct wall and then go behind it and strike it perfectely straight against that wall so that it follows the walls curve. In my experience the PC literally cannot block this, it's a guaranteed point for you. So ideally the best thing to do would be to do this as often as possible but it's often up to the PC and how aggressive its being if the puck ever slows enough to do this.

  5. Edit: Also forgot this. Don't get upset if they score against you, if you go aggressive it's bound to happen as you're going to lose track of the puck when it picks up speed, there's just no way to constantly know where it is when its lagging around. To that end I followed a trend, if I had at least a two point lead I would go aggressive. This pays off if you follow the above and you'll score a large part of the time, but naturally you're going to get scored against more and when things get super fast there's nothing you can do if you don't retreat in time. When that happens simply shrug it off and move on. Only worry about it if the computer actually catches up with you, at that point I recommend retreating and simply blocking until the puck finally loses momentum and gives you a chance to follow number 4 and get a free point to put you back in the lead.

Good luck, hope it helps someone.

I have this lag too, although it's reduced to a bearable level if I close all other programs and fullscreen the game. If there really are 2 image rewards for the mini-games though, it seems like at least one doesn't trigger properly. First I beat all 5 at rock-paper-scissors and once I had beaten 3 at air hockey as well, I was notified an image had unlocked. You can't miss the notification because you have to click a "Back" button in the bottom right to get rid of it. If I'm not mistaken, the image itself is in Album -> Gallery > etc. > page 2. It's all the guys at a swimming pool.

However I've now beaten all 5 guys at air hockey as well but I didn't receive any notification, and there's no new image in the gallery either as far as I can see. I don't think this supposed second image unlocked at all. I guess I might try beating them all again, sigh...

Yeah from what I can gather there is no unlock for beating all five. You get the image at beating three in each game, the only reward for beating all five is the attached achievement.

Oh, I see, thanks for the info! Unfortunately the achievements aren't triggering for me at all, so that hasn't unlocked for me either :)

Yeah I'm having the same problem getting the "Memories" achievements. A quick look around the board suggests the achievements in this game are hit-and-miss with activating. It seems the devs have said they're working on it (haven't seen them post here, but multiple people have said it so I assume it's been addressed on their social media...or people just trolling) but even so this is a reasonably long VN as it is. I'd like to get all the achievements but I'm not looking forward to going through everything again, even if you can skip.

I know there are problems with achievements for games on Steam pretty frequently. But usually it's not something that takes weeks to rectify...unless they've just decided it's not worth the time. Which would ****.

Thanks for the tips! I was just about to search for a topic and this popped up--good timing. Sad to know that the only "solution" seems to be either "aim for luck" or "look the CGs up online and deal with not full-clearing the game."
piichan 28 NOV 2015 a las 11:30
I thought it was just my crappy computer >< I still managed to defeat everyone but it takes quite a while because of the lag. I hope it gets fixed.
