And there will always be doomsayers, there will be more otome on Steam. Probably not many more big name titles or ports from other consoles, but PC/Linux native otome and indie games will certainly come to steam in the future.
For what it's worth, western otome (what little of it there is) is consistently ending up on steam.
It's also waaaay too early to say whether there will or won't be any other Otomate games on Steam.
As for otome games, well, there are plenty of those lined up for future release.
I really don't think using the Steam platform was a great idea here. Desura would have been much better if they could have gotten it on there despite clearly not being indie.
In the meantime, may I suggest you gals check Idea Factory on their facebook page and twitter? There's lot of neptunia fans over there but if we reach out to Idea Factory about otome games maybe we'll be heard again. Last time people answered PC ports in their survey so we got Amnesia on steam. I'm sure they will hear us out again!

I'd rather disagree with putting it on Desura tho, aside from the ownership change, Desura filed for bankruptcy.
