Should I watch the anime before I play the game?

Just like the title suggests, I was wondering whether or not I should watch the full anime series before I start playing the game? Just like you should read a book before you watch the movie, does it matter in this case scenario?

You should play the game. There are lots of missing key information on anime, which was probably the reason of why it was poorly received by the critics.

So first the book (game) and then the movie (anime). :D

I agree with this. The game is great but it's also really nice seeing the game as an anime. I really hope you enjoy the both of them! It was such a great ride for me. :)

The anime is totally worth the watch though. I actually found the otome game based genre of anime FIRST, and then found the games. Honestly, I wish that I played it first, and I will be watching it again when I beat the game.

Is there a site that you used to watch the anime? I plan to watch it once I've fully completed the game (just Ukyo's route to go), and I haven't even begun to try to find the anime yet. :)

I usually use kissanime.com for all my anime needs, but I'm sure you can find it on other sites too.:) It's not to hard to find. :)

Hopefully won't be too much longer. :) Just got through Ukyo's good ending, now I just need to get the two bad endings I missed on his route and the normal ending. Then I'm basically almost done getting all the acheivements so I'll probably get those before I watch the anime. :)

I've heard such great things about this game and I've read up on it so much.. I'm still setting up my new pc, so I can't even play it yet.. The anticipation is tearing me apart, lol. Does it matter which route you start with? I know most people usually go down the list, but I definitely want to start with kent's route first.

@Dezaru it doesn't. The arcs are pretty self-contained storywise.

So you can go #TeamKent first, without fear. <3

As Artur said. :) I seriously can't decide which route is my favorite. <3 I loved all of them really in their own ways. Though Toma's is a little questionable to me, but I see it as if the original MC would have been fine with it if her memories weren't gone then more power to her. XD

That's how I feel since at the time I didn't have a PSP so my only option was to watch the anime. Playing the game is more detailed (since there's multiple endings for each character and the anime would probably spoil the game) and changed how I view the characters. At first I loved Shin when watching the anime but after playing the game I fell in love with Kent. I also feel more sympathy towards Ikki's situation while Toma became even more dislikeable.

As for route choice, they have no effect on each other so it doesn't matter. I also went with Kent first because I read somewhere (forgot) for the best route choice would be Kent, Ikki, Toma, Shin since Kent is simple with the least trauma for the player while the other characters become more complex or intense.
