Evoland 2 The List of References

So, this is something I don't see here, which is odd given how MANY references in the game there are. So below I will be making a list of references I know and how they relate to each character. If you know of others please post them I will update this list.

John Snow (the snowman) - Jon Snow from game of thrones, this is made full clear by the quote "You know nothing, John Snow."

Bibi - Baba from Dragonball (z) If the reference isn't that clear she's floating on an orb with a quarter moon inside of it (that's the in game maana)

Characters looking like Ness and Lucas are in Windy Valley - Future

Lucas and Ness lookalikes - orphanage past, Windy Valley Future

There's a picture of a Nu from Chrono Trigger in the style of "The Scream" in the rich person's house in the big city - Present.

Pictures of chocobos in the Library - Present

Piranha Plants in the Library - Future. (may be spread throughout homes in the future, will further the list)

Elite Beat Agents - Present pop up quite a few times as the Elite Imperial Forces

Mewtwo - Giro's Lab Present

Red Ribbon, as well as some pods labeled 16 (next to the big destructo machine), 17, 18, and 19, a reference to the Red Ribbon Army, and Dr Gero's Androids from Dragon Ball Z.

Dr. Giro's Lab the first computer you come across located next to a xenomorph you get WoW - Present.

In Giro's Lab - Present, there are also Daleks, a Metroid, and a couple Xenomorphs.

Giro's Lab - Present, mother brain.

Prison - Past you can find the corpse of Sir Daniel, the protagonist of Medievil.

the chest finder has a > 9k written on the bottom.

There's also a reference to Skyrim (or the Elders Scrolls) in the first village where you can find a description of alchemy items.

A lost viking can be found, there's a fighter called Ababa in reference of Abobo, a cave name is a reference to LOTR ( Noria ) and there's even a joke in french (references to a TV show called Kaamelot ).

Clucktyle Island - Future (spelling please) There's a chicken, when you slay it a bunch of angry chickens coming chasing after you. The reference is cuckoo's from Legend of Zelda.

In the starting village, there is a picture in the inn that is of the first games protagonist.

In the very beginning of the Game in Finas home, there's a chest containing a 'green adventurer outfit' - Ledgend of Zelda

-The mini-Game with old man Pol aswell as the ones in the library (future) - Professor Layton

-The prison level / the cardboard box in the prison - Metal Gear Solid

-The Names you can choose of in the colosseum: Super Morio - Super Mario (obviously)

Solid Snail - Metal gear Solid (Solid Snake)

Mega Clink - Megaman and LoZ

Dexterminator - Terminator and Dexter

- The Ninja squirrels you fight in the colosseum - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

- The Time Vortex when travelling through Time - Doctor Who

-When you're in Genova (Future) you can find books with the symbol of the deathly hallows on it in some houses - Harry Potter
- A lot of adult NPC's in Genova (Future) will be dressed as Elizabeth Comstock ( First Dress and second dress) or Booker Dewitt and little girls as little Sisters ( Bioshock)
- When you talk to the woman who is looking for her lost chickens in Genova (past) she will claim a boy dressed in green harassed her chickens after proposing to help her finding them - Legend of Zelda
-In the Mines ( past ) near the smith you'll be able to see a crafting table from minecraft - Minecraft
- The Ghosts in the haunted Forest - Super Mario
-When you're climbing Mount Alpha halfway through you can meet Clara Loft - Tomb Raider (Lara Croft)
-The Flight level from Mount alpha to the Prophets Pyramid - Project Touhou
-Atop the prophets Pyramid the prophet will do some math concluding in the ultimate answer 42 - Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy
- Bossfight against the prophet - Street Figther
- Near the prophets pyramid you can win a card with the name C4P0 - Star Wars ( C3P0)
- back in Genova ( Present) the bossfight against Cherry - Megaman
- The Mine Level and the Bossfight against Plum - Bomberman
- Inside the mines you can Find Creepers from Minecraft
- The Bossfight against Reno - Dragon Ball
- Inside Giros Lab when you look at the second or so Pc it says there is an Image of a Blue hedehoge -Sonic
-You have to Play Pong, Snake,Space Invaders and Pacman to confirm your Human intelligence to proceed in the Lab level
-The Weapon (or rather the playing card 'Weapon') got a striking resemblance with Hell 9000 - 2001 a space odyssey
- After Ceres saved you and opened the Portal for you to continue your quest velvet will say ' Beam me up scotty' before entering the Portal - Star Trek
-The Pirat level - Double Dragon
-Inside the sylph forest you can talk to : Sora ( Kingdom Hearts), Cloud ( Final Fantasy VII), Ryu ( Street Fighter) and Mario ( Super Mario Bros.)
- Sora will sing 'Let it go' from Frozen
-Throughout the Forest you can see Statues ressembling Totoro from My Neighbour Totoro
- Inside the Forest you will meet Nawi - Legend of Zelda ( Navi) and the Yoda tree - Star Wars (Yoda) and The Legend of Zelda (Deku Tree)
- The Pirate Roberts says whoever will find his treasure will become King of the pirates - One Piece ( Gol D. Roger)
-On the Viking Island you'll meet Largo LaGrand - Monkey Island 2
-The Caverns of Noria - LotR ( Mines of Moria)
- Boss fight against the Troll - Donkey Kong (1981)
-Duels in the Viking village - Bejewled
-Demonia campaign ,Bridge over the River Kawai - The Bridge on the River Kwai
-Bossfight Great Magus- Guitar Hero
-In the Tavern in Niburu village a Picture of the protagonist of the original Evoland can be seen
- In windy valley ( present) you can meet Sid - Final Fantasy
- Windy valley ( Future 2.0) Inside the shop you can see : - The hyrule shield - LoZ
- The Stark familys coat of arms -Game of thrones
- Captain Americas shield
- Clouds sword -Final Fantasy VII
- The Mastersword - LoZ
- At one point in the story Fina will tell you , that she once had a dream in which she wore a pink dress and was the ruler of a land full with mushroom people - Super Mario (Peach)
- Bossfight Ceres second part - Ice Climbers
-The Controller you get from Ceres to freely switch between time is a NES Controller

- Inside the rich peoples house in Genova ( past) you can find diagrams of IKEO furniture - IKEA
-You can also find the Book ' How to Spend your Money when you have too much' by Bill G. ( Bill Gates)
- When you find the Mammoth steak there's a message stating that PITA won't be happy - reference to the real life organisation PETA

In the Ancient Era there is a Magi on the island that will become the Pirate Island you meet Velvet at that says, "I don't entirely trust those Roboservos... What if someday an artificial inteligence takes over and sends robots back in time to kill us all off? ... Not teribly likely, that."
Obviously another reference to Terminator.

In the research center of the same time period there is a robot that states the odds of survival are 1 out of 3720 which is what C3P0 tells Han Solo about the Asteriods.

Magi library has a librarian talking about Chocolate nad invisibity cloaks being forbidden. Possibly a Harry Potter reference?

Bibi calls you if you give her the wrong item when askeng her to make a potion, she'll call you 'my BFG-9000' and if you give here anything besides Maana when you ask her to awaken a party member, she calls you 'my little pony'.

Ancient Times - The cannon is very likely a reference to Secret of Mana, as it had a cannon-based fast travel system.

Genova - Future there is a militia in the barracks who says "First rule about the militia is do not talk about the militia. The second rule is Do NOT talk about the militia." This could be taken as a fight club references until he says "and I don't even want to talk about rule 34" which immediately turns it into rule of the internet.

The tutorial is a reference to portal 2, where both have you move left then right, then look up and down, then listen to some music.

There are three girls in Genova (Future) that have a cutscene quite similar to the Cutie Mark Crusaders when they first began in MLP.
Genova - future one of the girls looks painfully similar to Annie from League of Legends. Purple dress, short hair, headband with ears....

The Dread Pirate Roberts is from the movie "The Princess Bride".
The town's name "Genova" is a blatent Final Fantasy 7 reference.
when the hero has an "issue" destroying the weapon (Cloud/Sephiroth and one of the reactors).
Wind Slash sword = Buster Sword.
The robot fights inside of the weapon = chrono trigger (future)
In Evoland 2, Mount Alpha ("Mont Alpha" in french) is a reference to Golden Sun ("Mt. Aleph" in english, "Mont Alpha" in french), you can see that the french names are similar.

I thougt the greenhaired female maincharacters name "Fina" would be a reference to the greenhaired female main character "Feena" from Grandia ...but it seems that i´m the only one^^

Actually that could be a reference, it fits the description quite well and there's references in here that others won't get having not played theg ames.

I know im 3 years to late for this but I just finished the game and I also thought about Fina as a reference to Feena from Grandia ;)
its not just about the names which sound familiar or the appearance with that green hair. Fina in Evoland has a mystical background because she is related to the Sylph, same as Feena in Grandia who was also somehow related to the magical humanlike beings called Icarians
