Evoland 2 The List of References

So, this is something I don't see here, which is odd given how MANY references in the game there are. So below I will be making a list of references I know and how they relate to each character. If you know of others please post them I will update this list.

John Snow (the snowman) - Jon Snow from game of thrones, this is made full clear by the quote "You know nothing, John Snow."

Bibi - Baba from Dragonball (z) If the reference isn't that clear she's floating on an orb with a quarter moon inside of it (that's the in game maana)

Characters looking like Ness and Lucas are in Windy Valley - Future

Lucas and Ness lookalikes - orphanage past, Windy Valley Future

There's a picture of a Nu from Chrono Trigger in the style of "The Scream" in the rich person's house in the big city - Present.

Pictures of chocobos in the Library - Present

Piranha Plants in the Library - Future. (may be spread throughout homes in the future, will further the list)

Elite Beat Agents - Present pop up quite a few times as the Elite Imperial Forces

Mewtwo - Giro's Lab Present

Red Ribbon, as well as some pods labeled 16 (next to the big destructo machine), 17, 18, and 19, a reference to the Red Ribbon Army, and Dr Gero's Androids from Dragon Ball Z.

Dr. Giro's Lab the first computer you come across located next to a xenomorph you get WoW - Present.

In Giro's Lab - Present, there are also Daleks, a Metroid, and a couple Xenomorphs.

Giro's Lab - Present, mother brain.

Prison - Past you can find the corpse of Sir Daniel, the protagonist of Medievil.

the chest finder has a > 9k written on the bottom.

There's also a reference to Skyrim (or the Elders Scrolls) in the first village where you can find a description of alchemy items.

A lost viking can be found, there's a fighter called Ababa in reference of Abobo, a cave name is a reference to LOTR ( Noria ) and there's even a joke in french (references to a TV show called Kaamelot ).

Clucktyle Island - Future (spelling please) There's a chicken, when you slay it a bunch of angry chickens coming chasing after you. The reference is cuckoo's from Legend of Zelda.

In the starting village, there is a picture in the inn that is of the first games protagonist.

In the very beginning of the Game in Finas home, there's a chest containing a 'green adventurer outfit' - Ledgend of Zelda

-The mini-Game with old man Pol aswell as the ones in the library (future) - Professor Layton

-The prison level / the cardboard box in the prison - Metal Gear Solid

-The Names you can choose of in the colosseum: Super Morio - Super Mario (obviously)

Solid Snail - Metal gear Solid (Solid Snake)

- The Ninja squirrels you fight in the colosseum - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

- Inside the rich peoples house in Genova ( past) you can find diagrams of IKEO furniture - IKEA

- When you find the Mammoth steak there's a message stating that PITA won't be happy - reference to the real life organisation PETA

In the Ancient Era there is a Magi on the island that will become the Pirate Island you meet Velvet at that says, "I don't entirely trust those Roboservos... What if someday an artificial inteligence takes over and sends robots back in time to kill us all off? ... Not teribly likely, that."
Obviously another reference to Terminator.

In the research center of the same time period there is a robot that states the odds of survival are 1 out of 3720 which is what C3P0 tells Han Solo about the Asteriods.

Magi library has a librarian talking about Chocolate nad invisibity cloaks being forbidden. Possibly a Harry Potter reference?

Bibi calls you if you give her the wrong item when askeng her to make a potion, she'll call you 'my BFG-9000' and if you give here anything besides Maana when you ask her to awaken a party member, she calls you 'my little pony'.

Ancient Times - The cannon is very likely a reference to Secret of Mana, as it had a cannon-based fast travel system.

Genova - Future there is a militia in the barracks who says "First rule about the militia is do not talk about the militia. The second rule is Do NOT talk about the militia." This could be taken as a fight club references until he says "and I don't even want to talk about rule 34" which immediately turns it into rule of the internet.

The tutorial is a reference to portal 2, where both have you move left then right, then look up and down, then listen to some music.

There are three girls in Genova (Future) that have a cutscene quite similar to the Cutie Mark Crusaders when they first began in MLP.
Genova - future one of the girls looks painfully similar to Annie from League of Legends. Purple dress, short hair, headband with ears....

The Dread Pirate Roberts is from the movie "The Princess Bride".
The town's name "Genova" is a blatent Final Fantasy 7 reference.
when the hero has an "issue" destroying the weapon (Cloud/Sephiroth and one of the reactors).
Wind Slash sword = Buster Sword.
The robot fights inside of the weapon = chrono trigger (future)
In Evoland 2, Mount Alpha ("Mont Alpha" in french) is a reference to Golden Sun ("Mt. Aleph" in english, "Mont Alpha" in french), you can see that the french names are similar.

The Piranha Plants and the Chocobos are actually references to the first game, which are references again themselves.

There are a few other references to the original game. A painting or two in the future are the pre-rendered scenes from the first game.

Another one would be the option to name yourself Mega Clink when you first meet Menos is a reference to the default name from the first game.

The chest finder item is a Dragon Ball radar.

In the labs, you can find a Red Ribbon, as well as some pods labeled 16, 17, 18, and 19, a reference to the Red Ribbon Army, and Dr Gero's Androids from Dragon Ball Z.

I think the intro scene is a nod to the intro of Portal 2. Using buzzers to denote actions and being told how to feel. They even play music for you too.

Yeah I tthought that about Portal 2 as well. When you get an item from a chest the animation is a lot like Legend of Zelda when Link gets treasure. Also Kuro is left handed with his sword (apart from in the animated cartoon parts which is odd) so maybe another reference to Link. The look of the grass is similar to in Pokemon and some Zelda games and also cutting it with the sword, although I'm sure a lot of games you can cut grass and get stuff. The Stone of Time may be a further reference to Zelda games as there are Time Stones in Skyward Sword.
The guy in Nibiru village permanently chopping wood may be a reference to a guy in a Link to the Past who never seems to stop chopping at a stump. If I remember rightly one of the spiders in the cave with the Trolls looks like a Skulltula from the Legend of Zelda series. Plus I'm pretty sure there's a puzzle with ghosts and tomb stones in a Link to the Past like in the Haunted Forest.
The Slime monsters may be a reference to Dragonquest games, as well as the adventurer being dead at the bottom of the well in Nibiru village, as you can climb down wells to look for treasure in those games. Also as well as mentioning Sonic in Giro's lab, right by the computer that mentions Sonic there is a broken flying machine Robotnik uses. The hibernation chambers reminded me of the cryofreezer doodads in Halo.
The cannon in ancient times might be a reference to the Haddron Collider? I'm not sure.
The Anomaly might be a reference to a British TV show called Primeval which had distortions in time called Anomalies, although they don't look like that.
Collecting the stars as a side quest may be a reference to Mario games where you collect stars. The music in past Haunted Forest sounds a bit like Castlevania music to me.
