After a 100 or so attempts I gave up. : http://i.imgur.com/QO25HW8.png This is basically every fight I've done with him.
Seconding this. Even a save point by where you put the mysterious gems would be nice; I reached there multiple times, only to die in trying to get one of the gems due to the crazy powered up monsters, then have to run that platforming gauntlet yet again.
It just takes some practice and patience guys, don't ♥♥♥♥♥ at the developers cause you are all whiney lillte ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
If you are having trouble with the damage he deals either level up abit so you can take more hits or just don't get hit.
Health seems to be a little sparse at times. The little health heart pickups don't seem to restore enough health unless you are lucky enough to get a bunch of them in a row. Usually a checkpoint comes right when you really need it, but it still feels a little unforgiving. I found myself wishing a few times that there was a god mode cheat so I could just beat that boss so I could move on. Or is this supposed to be easy as in NES game easy?
The megaman style rooftop platformer and cherry's boss fight there definitly need some toning down. The platformers in general as I said could use more health, at least on easy mode.
Oh and while I loved the Sylph Forest segment, being trapped by that one Tomatl not withstanding, so many people seem to be getting stuck there that it definitly use a bit of extra clues as to what you should be doing when, etc.
I think the issue with the Reno fight could be solved by tuning his pattern to perform the one attack that leaves him vulnerable more often during his first phase. Its another case of the fight not necessarially being too difficult, so much as just taking longer than it feels like it should, the first phase is more of an endurance test than a fight.
The only bits I would like to have seen toned down are:
1) The hardest song on the DDR/Guitar Hero stage.
2) The hardest Ikaruga/Bullet hell stage.**
I basically gave up on getting all the cards when I realised it was gonna require hours of frustration trying to beat those challenges.
**EDIT: Actually, having gone back to try this challenge again, it wasn't that hard. Still took me over half an hour of retries to get it done, but it turned out I was actually closer to the end than I had thought. For some reason, I thought there would be another boss after Scizor.
