Is this Caesar III remastered?
I saw some gameplay. This game looks exactly like Caesar III, which I played the ♥♥♥♥ out of as a kid. Is it a working game or some kind of early access?

It's not remastered - That would imply it - WAS - Caesar III in the first place, heh.

But yeah - It is definitely the same kind of City Building genre. You'll feel right at home. Is it Early Access? No - But there are some minor issues that the devs are sorting out.

It's definitely the kind of gameplay from Caesar III / Pharaoh, only in the cutest steampunk universe with tons of funny details.
They're having a rocky launch, and some people seem to encounter some problems running the game, but the devs are working on it 24/7 and you can always ask for a refund if it doesn't work properly for you. I suggest you give it a try, it's a great throwback to the City Builders of our childhood!

I'd recommend getting Pharaoh/Zeus/Emperor over this game. It's much simpler than these.

I'd recommend them regardless - They are usually very cheap on GoG and classics that shouldn't be missed, if you liked Caesar.
I have to say that if this game is anything like Caesar III then I'm totally interested. I LOVED LOVED LOVED (and still play) Caesar III - although there was a 15 year hiatus for me lol. Plus I'm very impressed with their honesty and straightforward public apology on the status of the game.

You will feel right at home - Some mechanics are more similar to the later "Impressions" games like Pharaoh. But at the core they are all practically the same.

You put down lots for people to move into, you provide them with basic infrastructure like water and food - And then you build upwards. Houses get bigger, demand more things - you expand the city accordingly.
