Asking for admin. rights each time I start the game
Hello,

I've noticed that the game is asking for administrative permission each time I am starting it.
Is this really need it ? Can I add this rights to executable properties to get rid of that UAC each time I am starting it ?

when you launch the game or steam and if gives you the UAC permission page, it will have a show more tab at the bottom, click that. and it will say choose when to be notified in there in very light text. click that and slide the bar to never notify. :ragebs:

Are you logged in as the adminstrator If not then I would check It.
I am as administrator logged in. It's doing the same as when I open OpenVPN and requires to grant administrative privileges.
Is it possible to fix this administrative rights request each time I start the game in a next patch ?

Thanks

Lethis shouldn't require admin rights for anything in the first place - UAC "should" pick up on you needing it everytime you run the game after the first time tohugh.

And people wonder why some of us disable UAC every time, heh :)

Maybe the Manifest of the .exe can be modified through a HEX-Editor. Sorry, I can't really help you there because I don't own the game. Otherwise I might could provide a modified .exe version.

The manifest is some XML content inside the .exe file which tells the system whether the application does need Administrative rights or not.

But good to know. If I had bought this game and recognized this I would have refunded this if the developer won't answer this.

We're going to consider it.
I personnaly don't understand why it's such a big problem but hey, you're the players.

As a hobby programmer, I don't really see why Lethis requires admin rights in the first place - It's not like it's changing any files in a protected environment.

And not having to click "Yes - you can run this game with admin rights" every time you launch it does get old. Which is why I disabled UAC altogether years ago.

Hey, this is unacceptible. I don't want to give adminsitrator rights to a game or my password to anyone who wants to play it on my machine.

You're... not. You don't seem to understand how elevated rights work.

Non-admin accounts require a password for elevation.

I set the RunAsInvoker shim for Lethis. The game works just fine without administrator rights, and this also incidentally fixes its Steam overlay and achievements, which weren't working before.

And you're not giving the application in question the password - Which remains my point.

As for why achievements and overlay won't work - Perfectly normal. You're asking the steam.exe to inject itself into the memory of the game - That requires administrative priviledges.

I did not say I did.

Oh dear. This is the only game that asks for elevation. Elevation prevents overlay and achievements from working. Removing elevation fixes them.

No it doesn't - And you did actually say just that, as evident by the previous quote I made.

This is pointless. You are contradicting facts and making things up. And aren't actually helpful at all.
