Online Play Patch (Openspy configured)

Hello,
Through the efforts of THPSX and Openspy, online play is now back up. To play online, you will need a patched exe file that is configured with Openspy. Below is a detailed explanation and link to the THPSX forum post for the file.

As many of you know, Gamespy was shut down long ago, leaving plenty of games, including Unleashed, without Online play. Some games shifted to the Steam servers, but MvA Unleashed did not. Myself and the crew at THPSX and Openspy have successfully patched the exe file and allowed the servers to accept new registrations to Openspy.

Once the exe is replaced with the Openspy configured one, go into Multiplayer, Online, and create a new account. These accounts will work even after the game has been closed, so please remember your passwords, emails, and usernames.

I'm bumping with knowledge of another game that also came out in 2006 that ALSO had gamepsy servers as well.

Flatout 2 has a similar fix too. A patched exe is needed to download. Thats pretty cool that its being kept alive. I'll have to pick this game up too even though I only played mx unleashed

Make sure to close the window that has the MX game files up before opening the exe. For some reason if you are within the MXvsATV directory in Windows Explorer and try to launch it, it refuses to launch.

When I download it, it downloads as a .7z file, I try to use 7zip on it and nothing happens, I assumed I'd just rename it to an .exe but that also doesn't work, what am I doing wrong?

7zip should extract the MXvsATV.exe inside of it. Try using a different extraction program, such as WinRAR.

Disregard my last post. It appears the 7z was somehow corrupted. Check the thread again, there's a .zip file attached.
