Two Questions...

So I used to play this game when I was a kid and when it went on sale I figured I'd buy it since I remember how fun it was.

There are two things that are bugging me.

One is that I can't seem to get the preload to work consistently. Some jumps it only works 1/5 times. I don't remember this being an issue when I played it on the PS2. Am I missing something or is this normal? It makes the game pretty frustrating to have laps ruined because it didn't want to preload. It's almost a game ruiner for me.

My other question is how does the rider reset work? I thought that if you went off track or something you could press the reset button and it would set you back on track. Whenever I press the button it does nothing. It is only for use in freeride or something?

Im not sure about the rider reset, but preloading with the keyboard I have found requires really fast key presses. My steam controller refuses to work with this game so I cant test to see if a controller is different.

I should have enough for a cheap xinput gamepad within the next week to properly play this classic. lol

Ok, so the rider reset only works in freeride which kinda sucks imo. Preloading works fine for me with a gamepad if I flick the stick forward while im basically in the air.

edit: just flick forward later than normal
