I hate to say it but after playing the first QUBE this one really feels like it robbed me of 4 hours. Almost all the puzzles are easy and repetitive, and then after 3 hours the game just ends. I played it because I thought it would be more QUBE, better QUBE, but unfortunately, I regret playing it.
I don't like to leave negative reviews but this one goes out to all the people on the fence over whether this game is worth your time and money. I guess if you are really bored, don't want to think about life, AND get it on sale, this game is fine

I don't remember if the first game had a story, but this one has one and it's not really that good. The puzzles are fine, but not that challenging (maybe the ones in the DLCs are tougher, but I don't have those) and I would have preferred it, if it was just the puzzles without having to wait for the dialog to end.

Also in the later half spheres are introduced, and that's just really ruining my vibe.

I'm 3 hours in and the puzzles are so trivial it's just boring. The graphics finally changed up a bit, but I'm already bored of the new textures and the level design is an abstract mess in terms of feeling like a coherent place that had some kind of purpose, although it's functional and readable in terms of the puzzles themselves.

Turning on raytracing has a huge performance hit. I had to move from my 2080ti desktop to my 4090 sofa/TV machine, when I'd much rather play this with mouse & keyboard. Also, playing with an Xbox One controller (wireless) is still bugged after all these years (found a discussion post about it from 2018): The button to delete cubes does not work. Although, so far, it hasn't really mattered as you can delete a cube by placing it somewhere else and there are usually free spots to do so.

The worst part about the raytracing update is there is no reflection of your character. You don't exist, or are a vampire, apparently. That's a bit of an oversight when you make literally every surface in the first 2.5 hours of the game into a mirror.

I'll probably keep playing it in small doses, but the puzzles are so boring it just isn't compelling. And the story is... nothing so far. It also makes the same mistake as several other science-themed puzzle/walking sims made by smaller devs: Your character is voiced by an English lady who speaks to another English lady over radio and they both sound so similar, in terms of both accent and delivery, it gets confusing. IDK why people keep doing that. It's confusing to me as someone from England so IDK what it's like for everyone else.

Technically, the game is generally smooth on my 4090, but occasionally has some traversal stutter which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't also suddenly rotate the camera a completely random amount (if you were so much as touching the right stick when the stutter happened). Given the samey environments from room to room, and the frequent loading screens, I don't really understand why there is traversal stutter at all. But then it is Unreal Engine, so performance issues are inevitable.

I don't hate the game, but it was kinda boring. The puzzle genre isn't lacking for games, and this isn't good enough to be worth your money. It's very much part of the initial wave of Portal clones that lacked the charm.
