What is the recomended resolution for your monitor?

The game usually automatically adjusts to match the recomended.

I experienced it setting it to 1080p, allthough my monitor is 1440p.

if I didn't how do I change setting my recommended monitor res.

As far as I am aware it is only posible to change the resolution in the video menu.

It is possibble to copy the MainSettingsData.sav file into your save directory to edit the settings although you would need a way of editing the file to begin with.

I could send over MainSettingsData.sav file if you let me know the settings you require.

Moving my comments here as it seems a more relevant thread.

Black screen upon start of Qube 2
I see the out of range message appearing on my screen. so i figure qube 2 is trying to set an erroneous resolution.

my recommended display is 2560x1440, which I use.

I briefly managed to force qube 2 into windowed mode with alt-enter during load. Then it returned to full screen, i briefly saw a language selection screen before it went black screen again.

Edit: Now, every time i tab into the full screen game, i see the prologue screen briefly, before it goes black screen again.

Edit 2: Managed to hit alt-enter to force it into windowed mode before the scren blacked out. I briefly saw the image on the prologue screen and the menu. When I forced it into windowed mode, the image vanished, leaving just a black screen, but the menu was still there and responsive. I immediately checked windowed mode and restarted.

Edit 3: Now the image in the background of the prologue screen appeared and the game started in windowed and did not change to full screen. Clearly something is amiss here, but at least I could start the game.

Edit 4: Id like if the game remembered to start in maximized windowed mode if having set that by doubleclicking on the taskbar o thef qube 2 window, which you can if tabbing out and back in.

The window is maximized by doubleclicking the game's taskbar, filling out all available space on screen while the windows taskbar is visible at the bottom.

Edit 5: guess its just windowed mode for now, transitions with minor cutscenes seems to force the game back into normal windowed mode instead of maximized window.

you can change game settings in config file at \Users\<you>\AppData\Local\QUBE\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Thank you so much it worked. I got to work about 3 hours just forgot about the thread. Great game so far!

Just for the record, I'm using a 2560x1440 screen too and the game also defaulted to 1920x1080. Manually changing this to 2560x1440 worked but also broke my menus e.g. I could no longer select 'Quit' with the gamepad or mouse. It also set the refresh rate to 60Hz.

Thankfully relaunching the game saw it stick to the 2560x1440 resolution but this time at 120Hz (my desktop config) and the menus were functional.

Later in the game I decided to turn on subtitles and for whatever reason despite this being my only change it caused my resolution to reset back 1920x1080 and hence repeating the above process.

Thank you for supporting 120Hz without making me research on the Internet before editing config files.

So is there any way to edit the .sav file?
