bass.dll error
Every so often it won't start and I get the bass.dll error. Then after a while, it will work again. What's up with that?

Not sure only ever had the steam.dll error myself "which is just a matter of finding it in your steam folder and copying and pasting it back in your PVZ folder"

It must be something getting updated, and then the delay is just waiting for Popcap to fix whatever is going on, I guess. If they were bought by EA Games like someone was saying it's only going to get worse. I wish EA Games would leave people alone.

I hear that! Had to download origin just to get my steam copys of dragon age and dragon age 2 to work, Thats some bs lol. Never the less you could try to use origin just register your PVZ with them

I hadn't thought of that. Actually, just posting the complaint and waiting seemed to fix it. It works again... but for who knows how long? LOL

I'm not happy though to hear about the Origin thing... I haven't opened that in something like a year because of all the nonsense I've had to deal with trying to buy and play EA Games through the blasted thing.... who ever heard of opening a store in beta?

Solution here:

-Go into C:/Windows/SysWOW64
-There should be a single file called bass.dll
-Remove it
-Start the game

Thanks to Cipher210 for the solution.

It work 100%

Well, MicroQ's solution wasn't helpful in my case. But I managed to get rid of the error preventing me from launch the game, using the Steam Support "troubleshooting". Here's what I did:

1) Completely exit Steam.
2) Navigate to your Steam installation folder (~C:\Program Files\Steam)
3) Delete the 'appcache' folder.
4) Restart your computer and attempt to launch the game through Steam.

Anyway, at least for me this was the solution.

I tried all described here.I even updated my sound drivers and .net 4.5 as suggested on the microsoft website and it still doesn't work.It only worked once when I just installed it.

The way I find solve the problem is way simpler the of the others is just you go to C: and go in the search box and put Bass all the files that you find you delete less the file wich is of the game

Here's a solution that doesn't involve deleting system DLLs:
1. Go to the game directory and find the bass.dll file, copy it
2. Go to "C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games\PlantsVsZombies" and paste the bass.dll file there (note that the ProgramData folder is hidden in Windows by default)
3. Play the game and have fun 👍

Thank you! It worked like a charm.
