There are no resolution settings. You can press Alt+Enter though, if your game starts in fullscreen.

yes. I would love to blow up this grainy crap to 1440. I mean, I do play in fullscreen. but the stupid thing doesn't even fill the screen properly, on top of looking horrible

What graphics card are you using? Sometime certain GPUs will adjust game settings willy-nilly. You may need to hard-set something in the control panel itself.

There are no resolution options, it runs at 800x600, pretty lame version IMO (even the original iPad version runs at a higher res)

You can make the screen bigger by turning off the acceleration in the options menu.

How? The options menu does not have a settings for resolutions and the -w is invalid. Could you elborate?
Any launch options, including "-w" really only work with Source games.

While the game is running, go to the options menu, there should be an option titled 3D acceleration or so, disable this and it will fill your screen.

Already covered that. What we need to know is how to change the resolution. As far as i can tell there is just no physical way to manually change the resolution, it is hardcoded as 640x480. Trying to change the resolution via the"partner" xml doc fails. And there is no options in the game's menu. As far as i can tell, this is just the way they coded all the Popcap games. It is baffling i couldn't begin to phathom the thought process behind this.
There is no way to change the resolution. No file editing will work. Someone would have found a way by now otherwise. I too wish that the resolution could be higher.

Right, thanks for the clarification. So many games on steam don't have proper resolutions, or even window modes. It's so maddening at times.
It's the way the developers made it. Mainly the older games. Some had bad developers and they didn't care to add many resolutions. PvsZ 2 is good, but unfortunately, it's only mobile.

PVZ 2 is a joke, it's a pay2win cashgrab with some horrible mechanics and features

If you don't mind installing an emulator PvsZ 2 runs great in Andy on PC http://www.andyroid.net/ I finished all levels including the recent Dark Ages world and haven't had any problems.

Edit: This video shows how to get it going https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPEInjAZ2t8
