How tall can you grow the Tree Of Wisdom? I'm only on 160ft but have heard people who have grown it to like 1500

You can grow it a lot, however you cannot grow it infinitely. PvZ like many other games uses 32-bit architecture, where the value maximum for a 32-bit signed binary integer is 2,147,483,647 , which is the highest you can grow the tree. Attempting to go past that value, will reset is to -2,147,483,647 because 32-bit integers cannot exceed 2,147,483,647, so the next best thing the computer can do is revert to negative values.

so you're saying that once the tree has grown 2,147,483,647 feet and you try to grow it taller the tree will shrink?

Yup! It will display as -2,147,483,647 feet and the tree will return to its tiny little shoot state, from when you first bought it.
