FATAL ERROR when starting the game

It started few days ago and i still can't start the game until now. the game keeps showing "fatal error" windows whenever i start the game. Is there anyone knows what happened to it? please help!!!!!!

hey there ! i was also having this problem and i discovered a fix.

1. open up file explorer.

2. at the very top, you should see a button that says "view". click that.

3. towards the right side, there should be a box that says "hidden items". if it's not already checked, make sure it has a checkmark next to it.

4. migrate to "C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games".

5. delete the folder called "PlantsVsZombies" and start your game ! it should work again.

please let me know if you have any trouble with this !! d(>ω<*d

I have an easy way to solve the problem. Just click your left mouse button crazily when you open your game, and then close the full screen option in the "option" menu.

Didn't work. And considering that the folder was empty, I don't see how that could have fixed things

Didn't work. And considering that the folder was empty, I don't see how that could have fixed things

that doesn't seem right .. at least for me, it had an executable inside . what was your error message ? the one i experienced was "fatal error, cannot extract game executable" or something similar .

no , if your error message is that steam.dll cannot be found , you only need to replace that file . please let me know if you're experiencing a different error in this case !
