Tracker "Connected" but not visible in SteamVR menu
Hi all, I've been struggling to figure out how to get Vive Trackers to work with SteamVR. I'm able to "Pair Controller" and setup the Vive Tracker so I get a "Successful connection" screen, the light on the tracker and base station are green, but I am not able to see it pop up in the SteamVR menu so that it's a readable device on my computer. I have done a fresh reinstall of the USB drivers, SteamVR itself, and restarted and tested countless tries. I finally returned my previous tracker and tried a new one and I'm experiencing the same exact problem. The controller successfully "connects" but the device isn't appearing in the Steam VR devices.

I did try connecting my Quest via Oculus Link to SteamVR and the devices show up as expected this way, but I can't get it to work for the tracker. If anyone has gone through this or has some specific advice, I'd really appreciate it! If it helps, I have a Razer Blade computer.

Here is some more info to help, I pulled up the console and it looks like it's connecting correctly, but then this keeps on looping over and over while the Vive Tracker is connected.

Did you find a way to fix this?

Having the same problem here for 2 f*cking years, and guess what ? nothing works. please help.

Hoswy, look for your "steamvr.settings" file. By default it is in "C:\Program Files(x86)\steam\config\"
You'll need to add the following to your config. To see an example, do a web search for "activateMultipleDrivers" and you'll see people asking about it. I'm wary of posting the link cause I don't want to get auto moderated or something like that.
"steamvr" : { "activateMultipleDrivers": true },

Gonna try that right way good sir !

Update : I added it in the config as well as the stuff to add in the steamvr default config and steam vr launched a bit differently but the trackers still won't show up when I connect them. The light turns green and steamvr says that it connected succesfully, but still no little grey tracker icon pop up. I guess I wasted money as this was the closest it came to working I feel like.
The really annoying thing is that 2 years ago, the trackers did connect and show up but I couldn't use them by then (family stuff). And now that I can use them, they don't work anymore... I'm really hoping for someone out there to find way to fix whatever this is. I've tried everything I saw on the internet but to no avail...
Thanks anyway :3

I had this happen to me today and I found a fix that worked for me. Go to wherever SteamVR is installed, then go into the drivers folder and find the driver.vrdrivermanifest file for the lighthouses. Mine was in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\lighthouse
Open it with a text editor, change "always active" to true, and save the file. I started SteamVR after doing this and my trackers and lighthouses were immediately active in the device list, so with any luck this might be a general solution.
