Hmd Not Found (108)
Starting to pull my hair out. Vive is showing in system displays properly, but SteamVR keeps throwing an error saying No HMD available, it can't find one connected.

Went into settings and tried doing the "Remove all SteamVR USB devices", restarted then plugged it back in, same thing. Also reinstalled SteamVR.

Any input would help.

Thanks!

(Running a GTX 970 card, Vive is the #1 display, showing as HTC, 2160x1200. running 90hertz)

Tried this. Got a powered USB hub. Bypassed the interface box. Removed drivers and reinstalled Steam VR. Still nothing.

I'm having this issue now. What's frustrating is that the hmd DID work and now it doesn't.

Display 3 is the hmd and for some reason it's reporting as no driver. I've reinstalled SteamVR countless times and "Removed all SteamVR USB Devices" (though after restarting my system didn't noticeably install drivers again). I haven't got a clue.

Probably doesn't help, but I find the only way to get my PC to recognise the HMD was to ensure that the breakout box was powered on, then rebooting my machine, then opening Steam, then SteamVR, then if it didn't recognise the HMD, power cycling the breakout box. Oh, and unplug my second monitor.

Well I've found my "solution". To get my system to detect my Vive after each boot I have to turn it off, uninstall all the USB drivers related to the Vive (using USBDeview), turn it back on and let it reinstall all the drivers it needs to. Then, and only then, will I get the glorious green lights on the status bar.

EDIT:

Okay, so, turns out I don't need to do this. When I turn on the Vive it's sitting on my desk and being occluded from the lighthouses. If I lift up the Vive so the lighthouses are in view before I turn it on then everything works fine. Other Vives I've worked with don't need to do this, however, so I'm going to chop it down to slightly dodgy hardware. At least it's usable now.
